Late 19th century tortoiseshell and silver plate mounted table mirror Late 19th century tortoiseshell and silver plate mounted strut table mirror of neo-classical design, rectangular frame with applied cast silver plate decoration surmounted by a lyre, the back with floral marquetry around a central vase and supported on two rectangular struts43cm x 41cmCentral silvered lyre is bent backward and sections of silvered decoration missing. The mirror plate is 32cm x 26.5cm, no damage to the plate or loss of silvering. No provenance of note, came from a private home in South Cheshire.

Secret spring action drawer operational. Stoppers all damaged at the bottom with chipped edges, cut tops have small fleabite chips but nothing substantial. Bodies in ok condition with some small fleabite chips but again nothing substantial. Mirror in good order with some loss of silvering to the edges. Silver is tarnished but all complete and hallmarked. Some cracking to the veneer.

Key provided an working with lock. Cabinet in good order with shrinkage gap to the hinged top and some cracking to the sides. All interior compartments present with silver topped pots, silver is tarnished. Mirror has speckled areas of silvering but no cracks or chips. Baize is later replacement but in good order, all handles present and rolls on castors. No evidence of worm.
