A set of four George III silver candlesticks, John Schofield, London 1783, with beaded borders, 28.5 high approximately 2110gm Condition Report: The candlesticks are numbered by notches in the bottom edge of the socket part of the drip tray which correspond to engraved lines in the upper part of the nozzle. There may be a second numbering system, crude lines scratched in the underside of the sticks, these numbers do not correspond to those on the sconces/drip trays.Each drip tray has scratches to the upper surface, they are quite bad particularly to 3 and 4 where the scratches can be seen ghosted under the trays. Trays 1-3 have lion passant and maker only, tray 4 has lion passant only. There are a few minor dents here and there to the sticks. Each has faintly inscribed numbers to the outer edge for the foot (scratchweight?) Each hallmarked to inner edge of foot, marks crisp. Each has a crudely scratched line(s) under l-llll. Stick 1 has two circular marks to outswept section beneath nozzle. Stick 3 has a bulge under the bottom knop where it has been pushed down on. Stick 4 has slight bend to rim of nozzle, small bend to foot rim and the whole stick leans a bit, from bottom knop where there must be a small bend. There are no crests or armorials.

A matched silver tea and coffee service, mostly Elkington & Co, crested, of bulbous octagonal shape comprising kettle on stand, tea pot, sugar basin and jug, approximately 3690gm Condition Report: 1338:This is all by Elkington & Co, 1900/1901. Marks readable but a little worn. Jug and bowl have pale gilt interiors. Jug has small dent, bowl has bad dent to ridge. Teapot has broken and cracked handle, small dent. Kettle has cracks to handle, small dent to side, both chains detached, burner very clean - looks unused.
