Lot 1161

A Victorian army officers dress sword, with part fullered engraved blade, with wire bound shark skin grip, with steel scabbard with suspension loops, the blade 83 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The blade is in good order and appears to be free from any large rust spots. There are small rust spots and dirt around the ricasso. The guard has lost its silver plating . The shark skin grip and wire bindings are in good order. The ricasso has a Star of David and to the centre it is struck proved. There is no makers marker. The scabbard is rusty and has lost the majority of its patination. It has two suspension loops which are intact. There is no historical provenance with this item.

Lot 1185

A good carved softwood and silver mounted snuffbox, the silver mount by Aston & Son, Birmingham 1857, and with engraved decoration, the hand finely carved. 11 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The hinge works as it should and seals nicely. The metal mounts have been silver gilt but this has now been erased, only small traces of gilding remaining. The wood itself appears to be in good order throughout with no obvious losses or cracks. A nice example of its type.

Lot 1237

A French full size Mirecourt violin, circa 1880, with fine purfling front and verso, with well figured two piece back and figured sides, 59 cm overall, together with a 74.5 cm silver coloured metal mounted bow stamped Cuniot Hury, Mirecourt, all within a modern fitted (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: There is no interior label to this violin. There are no obvious cracks to either front, back or sides. The violin does show signs of wear and tear commensurate with age.

Lot 1260

A Victorian mahogany combined jewellery and silver casket, the top opening to a plush lined interior with three lift out trays and with brass carrying handle to either side, width 47 cm.

Lot 1341

A late Victorian stationery cabinet, by Parkins & Gotto, Oxford Street, with month and date cards, inkwells and drawer housing an oak watch holder together with a foliate engraved silver fob watch in case and with key (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The cabinet is in generally very good condition. The doors are not warped and close as they should. There is a very minor loss to the edge moulding at the very top of both doors and a tiny shrinkage gap between the doors. All brasswork is original and in good condition. The interior of the cabinet is in very good condition with all pieces being present including the inkwells. The drawer closes as it should. The silver fob watch winds and appears to be ticking away as it should. The condition is again very good.

A Chinese jade pendant on beaded necklace, 20th century, with silver gilt clasp, the pendant with fretwork decoration of a flowering vase with finger citrus upon an almost uniform beaded necklace, together with a stippled green jade bangle. Internal measurement 5.8 cm.

A Chinese rank badge, 19th century, embroidered with a silver pheasant perched upon a rock denoting civil official 5th rank, the bird surrounded by fruits to include finger citrus and facing towards an embroidered sun above a Ruyi head border and with two tone gold and silver chevron panel to the base. All within a geometric border. 26 cm x 28 cm (see illustration).
