The front endpaper blank has a manuscript inscription “This Book rebound at Bristol, The 31st October 1848, John Dorey”. (1).
Caroline (Queen Consort of George IV, 1768-1821). A fragment of silk dress material, believed to have formerly belonged to Queen Caroline, c.1820, pale mauve silk fabric with floral silver thread design, folded, dimensions approx. 46 x 43cm (18 x 17ins), together with a hand-written plain card reading “This silk was bought by my mother at a public auction of the Queen Caroline’s wardrobe wife of George 4th” (1).
