A George II Irish silver pair of cast candlesticks, by John Hamilton, Dublin 1728, triangular facetted octagonal bases, knopped tapering stems, with double cotton reel pull off sconces, one with poorly struck mark, crested, height 20 cm, scratch weights 10:7 and 10:10, weight 23 oz. One has maker date letter and harp to the base, the other to the underside. John Hamilton was a silversmith in Dublin, on Ormonde Quay (North bank of the Liffey, upstream from the Ha'penny Bridge). He was a Freeman in 1709, and served two periods as master warden of the Company of Goldsmiths of Dublin, in 1710 and 1714. He was elected to the Common Council of the City of Dublin on four occasions between 1714 and 1740.
A silver, marcasite and enamel horse racing brooch, the jockey in white with a black cross and red cap colours, stamped Sterling Silver, height 35 mm, another with marcasite jockey and horse, stamped Silver, height 30 mm and a third, at full gallop with plain jockey, stamped Silver, length 62 mm (3).
Alvar Aalto (1898-1976) for Finmar Ltd., a silver birch three tier bookcase, stamped 733, with adjustable shelves and glass sliding doors, raised on a plinth. Sold with the original sales brochure and price list, £5.00. Provenance; the vendors Grandparents purchased the bookcase for their first home in 1939 at 112 Fairfax Avenue, Hull from Barkers, Prospect Street, Hull
Alvar Aalto (1898-1976) for Finmar Ltd., a circular silver birch dining table, with laminate legs, label to the underside, diameter 127 cm, together with a Lazy Susan, label to the underside, diameter 60.5 cm and a matching set of four chairs with laminate legs, remains of the labels to the underside, (recovered over the original padding) (7). Sold with the original sales brochure and price list, table with Lazy Susan £6 10 shillings, upholstered chairs £3 each and a family photograph of the dining room. Provenance; the vendors Grandparents purchased the dining room suite for their first home in 1939 at 112 Fairfax Avenue, Hull, from Barkers, Prospect Street, Hull.

A VICTORIAN SILVER CLARET JUG by Edward & John Barnard, London 1866, of baluster form with slender neck, engraved with stars and a band of Greek key decoration, the handle modelled as an entwining serpent, the hinged cover with butterfly thumbpiece, on circular pedestal base, 33cm high, 849gms Condition Report: The jug is in good condition, the only issue is that it wobbles slightly.
