A George III Royal crested silver jug and another similar jug, the first by William Laver, London 1789, half fluted with reeded edge and applied strap handle, raised on a square pedestal foot, engraved with the Royal Coat of Arms and a personalised Order of the Garter, height 11cm (4 1/4in), diameter 10cm (3 3/4in), weight 10ozt, the second designed to match with lightly gilded interior, height 10cm (3 3/4in), diameter 10cm (3 3/4in), weight 8.2ozt gross (2) Provenance: The Earl of Munster The base of the "similar" jug is most likely a cast copy of the original, bearing a genuine maker's mark matching the original, the other hallmarks being probably part of the casting. The jug acid tests to sterling silver standard. The base is quite crudely attached to the body and is slightly differrent to the original. and the body is also of a slightly different dimensions.

A Victorian silver Royal Navy bosun's whistle by George Unite, Birmingham 1873, the barrel shaped buoy bearing the Royal Naval crown and anchor, engraved keel with vacant cartouche, suspension ring and mounted pipe gun. Length 9cm (3 1/2in), 14g teeth marks to the pipe and slight dings to the buoy. Whistle in working order.
