GC, with a quantity of autobiographical details and copies of photographs of Crown Prince Rupert of Bavaria.
A post 1902 officer's silver pouch belt badge of The Royal Irish Rifles, 16 battle honours to "Central India" on the wreath, with backing plate and 4 screw studs with original looped nuts, HM J&Co B'ham 1902, with details of original owner Maj K L Gordon. A Vic officer's lance cap of the 9th (Queen's Royal) Lancers, black PL skull and top, black cloth sides to top, gilt ornamental band, peak binding, simulated cord rosette with button, beaded link chinchain and lion's head bosses, gilt and silver plated rayed plate with battle honours to Afghanistan, leather lining. Basically GC the metal parts generally sound (PL congealed, lining silk and chinchain backing missing) (Please see lot 847 for image)
An SB 10 bore percussion sporting gun, 47" overall, part octagonal twist barrel 31" with 2 silver lines at breech, the top flat engraved in gothic script "Brinsley, Nantwich & Whitchurch", scroll engraved back action lock with maker's name, walnut halfstock with chequered wrist, steel mounts. GWO & generally GC (rather worn overall, ramrod replaced)
A DB 12 bore percussion sporting gun, by John Manton & Son, Dover Street, London, number 11471 (1844-45), 451/2" overall, twist barrels 30", the broad top rib engraved with maker's name and address, the locks engraved with scrolls, game dogs and "John Manton & Son Patent", walnut halfstock with chequered wrist, silver plated engraved steel mounts. GWO & C (barrels well rebrowned, mounts replated over some wear and light pitting, one hammer expertly repaired, with a set of silver plated ramrod mounts but no ramrod) (Please see lot 782 for image)
An attractive Indian kukri, polished blade, 12", stamped "Tempered Steel Made in India", two tone horn grips secured by brass studs, brass pommel cap, in its leather sheath with ornate Indian silver and brass mounts embossed with patterns and stylised animals, with pouch for two companion knives (missing). A Malayan dagger bade bade, slender SE blade 21/4", foliate carved swollen darkwood hilt, in its wooden sheath with foliate carved top in the form of a stylised human head, long sheet silver top mount and chape embossed with floral and foliate designs, 4 silver wire bands to central section.
