A FRAMED SECOND WORLD WAR RAF MEDAL AND EPHEMERA GROUP awarded to Warrant Officer 1620578 Ronald Carter, comprising 1939-45 Star (with Caterpillar Club Badge), Air Crew Europe Star with France and Germany bar, Victory and Defence medals, together with a Bomber Command Clasp and Medal. Also a white metal (possibly silver) and enamel RAF Sweetheart Brooch and a perspex RAF 44 Squadron brooch, with his insignia and other badges. Included with this group is Ronald Carters log book detailing all his missions, including being a rear gunner on Operation Nuremburg, Toulouse, Tours, Brunswick, Oslo, Schweinfurt, Mailly Le Camp and many others. The last entry in this book is Operation Caen ""Ammo and Tank"" park, Bomb load 1,000lbs. A/C badly damaged by flak, bale out, one fatality Sgt Keith Burrows Mid upper gunner. Tour ends P.O.W. Group also includes Carter`s RAF bible (Named and dated) and five letters detailing Carter`s P.O.W details, also with a picture of Carter as a Cadet in 1942. Group comes with 16 war related books including Lancaster bomber interest. (Carter has annotated these books and highlighted his missions). Also two framed prints both of Lancaster bombers. Condition Report: This extensive group has rips and tears to letters, log book is in good order. Medals in good order.

Condition Report: Trio and pair having spots of tarnishing and oxidisation. (Bad patch on victory medal front and rim, silver and enamel medallions in good condition.
