Barron, 3rd Volunteer Btn Lancashire Fusiliers, secondly, a WWI Memorial Death Plaque, named Herbert Barron, together with a 1914-15 Star medal named to 2406 Herbert B Barron, Lancashire Fusiliers, Barron served with the 1/8th Btn and was amongst the men who landed at the dreaded 'W. Beach in the Gallipoli Landings of 5th May, 1915, he was killed in action in the attacks on the trenches east of the 'Kirithia Vineyard', on this date the Btn lost its Commanding Officer and 2nd in Command, he is remembered with honour on the 'Helles Memorial' lastly a WWII group as follows, 1939-45 and Africa Stars, Defence and War medal, together with a Territorial Efficiency medal named to S-2087623 Pte H Barron. R.A.S.C., also present is the soldiers WWII pay/service book and a silver TA badge numbered, also Egyptian banknote etc, all in a splendid family grouping and worthy of further research
