AN INDONESIAN DHAL MID 19TH CENTURY The blade is in very good condition and razor sharp. A repeat design is engraved along the back edges of both sides of the blade. The sword handle is made from a small ivory tusk (loose). The scabbard is covered with patinated silver sheet metal with a series of milled-silver, multiple bands interspersed with medallions on both sides, but the front side medallions have a floral addition. The top of the scabbard is bound with thick green cord (probably original) terminating in two taselled knots which are worn.
