An officer’s high quality silver mounted plug bayonet, c 1700, broad tapered double edged blade 11½” struck on both sides with full face King’s head mark, the silver mounted hilt having helmet head finials to the quillons and pommel, and with plain ivory grip, in its silver mounted brown leather sheath with single suspension ring, the crosspiece and chape bearing “NR” silver smith’s mark. Good Condition, (sheath slightly creased, age splits to ivory grip). This bayonet is virtually identical to figure 50 in “The Plug Bayonet” by Evans. Plate 6 £1000-1500

A 19th century kindjal, blade 13¼”, with maker’s mark on one side at forte, lightly scroll etched fullers for full length on both sides, with narrow central fuller, darkwood hilt of traditional form with outer side covered in sheet silver with lightly etcehed borde and incorporating 2 prominant studs and 2 florets, in its leather scabbard, the fron covered with sheet silver stamped with simple foliate designs in panels. A Belgian 5 shot 7mm Loron self cocking pinfire revolver, c 1862, sighted octagonal barrel 105mm, stamped on left of the breech “LORON BREVETE” and number 2906, Liege proved, the breech, cylinder and frame inlaid with silver and gold scrolls, leaves and flowers, a lever on the left side swivels to allow the barrel and cylinder to slide forwards for loading and ejecting, with folding trigger and steeply angled butt with plain ebony grips. ORTMANN”; Liege proved; engraved with scrolled chequered panels, the loading gate slides out so that the elongated hinge pin can be used as an ejector rod; the bag shaped butt having root wood grips (worn), and lanyard ring.
