AN EXTREMELY RARE GEORGE I PROVINCIAL SILVER COFFEE POT, by Benjamin Brancker, Liverpool, c.1725, of tapering cylindrical “lighthouse” form with moulded rims, the hinged domed lid surmounted by a compressed knop finial, the scroll-form spout opposed by a wooden scroll handle, marked to underside of both the base and cover with makers mark BB struck twice and STER over LING twice. 23cm high, 20.7 troy ounces grossNotes: Benjamin Brancker, who is known to have been working in Liverpool from the early years of the 18th century, was succeeded in business by his son John in 1734. AN 18TH CENTURY PORTUGUESE TOPAZ FLORAL BROOCH, a large pink-red foiled oval rose-cut topaz, within a spray of golden and pink foiled pear rose-cut topaz, in closed back settings. 6cm by 5.5cm, 33.3 gramsCONDITION REPORTAll stones are foiled and in closed settings, it is therefore not possible to determine the natural colour of the stones. The central topaz measures 26mm x 28mm approximately. The foil has degraded and discoloured to pink-red and golden-orange tones. Brooch fitting later. Not hallmarked or stamped but in our opinion would test as silver.

Estimated total diamond weight 0.35ct, ring size Q, 6.5 gramsCONDITION REPORTOne rose-cut diamond chipped, the old-cut diamond is probably a later replacement, adapted into a ring from another piece of jewellery. Estimated old-cut diamond colour: I/J; estimated old-cut diamond clarity: SI1/SI2. The rose-cut diamonds are in closed back settings. Not hallmarked or stamped but in our opinion would test as silver on gold.
