The cigarette case is of good gauge, has traces of the gilt interior, heavy tarnishing and toning, light surface scratches. The ashtray is in good order.

The loaded vase is very slightly leaning, has heavy toning and tarnishing throughout and has an inscription to one side, also has a few small dents.

The spoons have wear to the ends of the bowls, the two pin dishes have splits and are very loose, the hallmarks are rubbed throughout.

A rare and important 17th century Irish silver snuff box of oval form with engraved scroll and crest to the hinged lid revealing a wrought iron coiled spring, the side with tulip decoration and inscribed 'John Browne 1669', with further floral scrolls to the base, 9 x 7.25cm, approx 2.68ozt/83.4g.Footnote: John Browne of Westport, County Mayo, was the quintessential representative of the Catholic 'New Interest'. Importantly, he was called to the Irish Bar in 1669, the year dated on this snuff box and was a self-made man. As one of the greatest beneficiaries of the upheaval caused by the Restoration land settlement between 1666 and 1685 he accrued an enormous estate in Galway and Mayo of more than 155,000 acres as well as properties in counties Sligo, Roscommon, Clare and Dublin; he also married the daughter of the third Viscount Mayo.Additional InformationThis comes from a private collection of Irish silver and art. There are remnants of a single partial mark to the inside centre of the well. There are some signs of old repair, but for a box of this age, there is just light general surface wear throughout.As detailed the box was acquired by an Irish family who collected many things including silver.  It is not known where exactly they purchased this box.

A group of Continental silver to include eight town spoons with enamel decorated bowls and crests, a small Scandinavian enamelled dish, diameter 4.5cm, a similar brooch, diameter 4cm, a pair of white metal spoons with heart shaped bowls, a pair or early 19th century silver tea spoons, and two further white metal commemorative spoons, approx 8.06ozt/251g (16).Additional InformationSome of the spoons are misshapen but the enamel is in overall good condition with only surface scratches. The small circular dish is stamped 925, S.G.G. Has heavy tarnishing to the reverse and light surface scratches. The brooch is stamped 925, S above a shield, is decorated with a church, has light surface scratches, a tiny repair chip to the front lower left hand section and heavy tarnishing to the reverse.  The two early 19th century spoons are in poor condition and the heart shaped spoons have misshapen stems.
