A good Sudanese Emir’s sword Kaskara, broad double edged blade 35½”, triple fullered for half its length, diamond section steel crossguard and slender langets, sheet silver covered hilt, the grip wirebound top and bottom, the centre section embossed with a stylized crossed foliate pattern, panelled turret shaped pommel with ringed and facetted stud, with a woven knot and tassels. A Wahabite jambiya, flat blade 16½”, with slender decorated panel at forte, darkwood hilt overlaid with punch decorated Eastern silver panels incorporating prominent domed studs, 3 at the pommel, and 3 along the centre of the grip, in its wooden sheath, covered overall with Eastern sheet silver panels of punched and engraved geometric motifs, brown leather shoulder strap and buckle. A Victorian heavy quality silver plated desk tray/ornament in the form of an officer’s helmet of the Royal Horse Guards, skull and mounts, with red and blue enamelled centre to helmet plate, velvet backed chinchain and ear rosettes, red hair plume, on its octagonal base which forms the lid of the desk tray, which has panel engraved sides and rests on 4 ornamental feet, maximum diameter of base 7”, overall height 16½”. A 50 bore percussion boxlock pocket pistol, by Riviere, London, 5½” overall, turn off barrel 1¾”, Birmingham proved; frame engraved with scrolls and signed in Old English script; with hidden trigger and rounded chequered butt with German silver butt cap and escutcheon. A pair of cased provincial quality 16 bore flintlock duelling pistols, c 1820, reconverted from percussion, 15” overall, rebrowned twist barrels 9½” with 2 gold lines at breeches; plain flat detented locks struck off, and having swan neck cocks, raised pans and rollers on frizzen springs; walnut half stocks with chequered butts, German silver fore end caps and escutcheon and small plain tear drop shaped butt caps; engraved steel trigger guards (one a replacement), and GS ramrod pipes with replacement horn tipped wooden ramrods. Generally GC (worn and much restored, one action AF); in their green baize lined fitted oak case with folding brass handle in the lid, containing shell embossed brass flask (slightly dented), 16 bore steel pincer mould, a wad punch and key to case.
