A LNER Steamships silver-plated ice-bucket in the wooden barrel shape, by Elkington. The side is stamped "LNER.SS.SH" (could be from the SS "Sheringham" built by the LNER in 1926 for the Harwich service and scrapped in 1958). Outward sloping sides, 61/2" high; two top integral handles; 6" diameter at the rim. In good, original condition.
A GWR silver-plated small circular waiter's salver, possibly for correspondence. The centre displays the pre-Grouping "GWR Tregenna Castle Hotel" garter crest, in a wavy, multi concentric circles design. Four ball feet. A quality item by Mappin & Webb, replated to fine condition. The Tregenna Castle Hotel, St Ives, Cornwall was taken on lease by the GWR in 1878, purchased in 1895 and is still open in private ownership.
A GWR silver-plated flower-vase, by Elkington. An expanding column, on a heavy circular base, supports a circular 'trumpet' top. The side of the column clearly displays the full "Great Western Railway Hotels" crest. 93/4" tall. In fine, original condition with only a very small base dent.
A LNER silver-plated pickle-jar holder, by Elkington. Three acanthus feet support a circular base from which rises a parallel-sided cylinder lettered "LNER" in script style, topped by a lid with finial and space for a spoon (not present). The base has a star and rib design to the rim. 6" tall, 33/4" diameter. In excellent condition. Not seen before.
A Manchester Sheffield & Lincolnshire Railway silver-plated half-pint tankard, the side clearly displaying a large circular crest lettered "MS&L Railway Co" enclosing the letter "R" (any ideas?). Nearly 31/2" tall, with sides sloping slightly inwards. In fine, original condition.
