An 18th century silver Guernsey christening cup maker JLP (Jean Le Page, Guernsey c.1799-1836), maker`s mark struck four times to base, of typical flared form with beaded scroll handles and flared circular base, engraved `R.L.M. Don de sa Maraine 1803`, 6cm. high, 7.5cm. diameter, weight 2.8oz. * The marks on this cup are illustrated in `Old Channel Islands Silver, It`s Makers and Marks` by Richard Mayne, pub. 1969, plate no.42. The cup was exhibited at the 1978 Old Channel Islands Silver exhibition and is listed in the published catalogue, p.27.
