A George III silver basket, Benjamin & James Smith, London 1810 with a reeded swing handle over a rectangular bowl engraved with a crest within engraved scroll, shell and foliate borders and a reeded and foliate rim, on a pedestal foot. The outer side of the basket engraved with various names and dates from 1658- 1939, approx 52cm long,
Parachuting interest: an HM silver medal, engraved with open parachute above 1601, the reverse engraved “C A 1940-46”, diam 28mm, GC with neck chain. This medal belonged to Charles Agate who, prior to WWII, volunteered to make test jumps to assess the feasibility of parachuting from low levels. Between 1940-1946 he made 150 experimental jumps testing different harnesses and equipment. After the War Agate was personally congratulated by Churchill and received the AFC from the King. A news cutting from 1985 gives the full story. Together with a Bohemia glass goblet etched with the badge of the Parachute Training School to mark their 40th Anniversary in 1981

An interesting presentation set of silver plated manacle, plug lock hand cuffs and whistle on chain, and turned rosewood truncheon, in their blue velvet lined fitted leather covered case by Fattorini & Sons, Bradford, the lid with small HM silver plaque, engraved “Presented to C Douglas Schofield Esq. Captain of the City of Bradfor Special Constabulary 1907-1908 as a Token of Regard from His Brother Officers, September 25th 1908”. GC (minor wear to case, part of one catch missing)
