A very fine pair of early 20th century hand-cut glass and silver-mounted claret jugs; each hinged lid with a finial as a lion rampant, the border and handle decorated repoussé-style with fruiting vine and each with a central mask of Bacchus amongst vine leaves, hobnail-cut bodies leading to spreading circular foot, maker's mark CB, each assayed London 1901 (29cm high)One lid is engraved with the initials 'FBB', there are minor surface scratches to silver mounts commensurate with age and use. There is wear to glass bases commensurate with age and use and there is one minor surface chip to base edge decoration (less than 1 mm)
