He was MP for Flintshire in eight parliaments and died on 26 July 1796, predeceased by his wife, Margaret daughter of Prebendary Dr Hugh Wynne of Salisbury. The baronetcy expired in 1831 with the death of Sir Roger's son, who was also MP for Flintshire.
