ELKINGTON & CO; a Victorian silver plated centrepiece with three stepped branches, fluted central column to griffin set tripartite base inscribed "Presented to James Watts Esq by the salesman, clerks, and other employees of the form of S. & J. Watts & Co on the occasion of his marriage, September 12th 1877", overall raised on a mirrored silver plate framed tripartite base, height 63cm. Provenance: purchased lot 55, March 1958 from the Abney Hall Contents Auction, Cheadle. CONDITION REPORT: Lacking the glass bowls, one slight area of loss to the mercury on the mirrored platter of approx 1 x 1cm, otherwise overall in good order.

Lot 1001

A large Victorian silver plated kettle on stand with fixed loop handle, engraved and embossed floral decoration, and scrolling support, height 40cm (af). CONDITION REPORT: The handle is broken to the body, has also split up the seam, copper showing through, the base has had repairs and restoration.

CONDITION REPORT: From a private collection. Minor scratches commensurate with age. Otherwise no significant damage. Doesn't appear to have been anything erased - the surface is smooth and no other picture is coming through. Thick and heavy with no repairs. Wear commensurate with age.

CONDITION REPORT: Several scratches to the top of the tray and some areas of minor pitting and traces of use, also some slightly deeper scratches to the base and some further areas of pitting.

CONDITION REPORT: Hallmarks are on the wire which is double threaded so they are split in half horizontally and a bit fuzzy. No traces of restoration, some wear to the base commensurate with age.
