The canoe competition took place at the lake Albano, where the first time buoy-chains separated the candidates, and even today they are used after that: albano-system. Therese Zenz became 2nd in the single canoe competition on 15pm on 29. August, one and a half hours later, she won a silver medal again with Ingrid Hartmann the double-canoe in 1,5916 minutes. Germany was on rank 4 of the medals-winning with in total 42 medals, 19 of these where silver ones. Rare and interesting estade of a successfull olympia winner.Condition: II

Without any hallmarks. The piece in lot no. 737 of the collection Professor Tammann, that got auctioned by UBS in November 2008 was of similar production, as it was also quiet large and hand no marking. But it was possible to get it assigned to the company Arndt, Paris / St. Petersburg. Most likly of around 1880, where the goldsmith master Samuel Samuilovich Arndt (1812-1890) was company leader.Condition: II

His most known work were the travels during the kidnapping of Hans Martin Schleyer by the Red-Army-group. He followed, on the direct command of chancellor Helmut Schmidt, as special commissioner the kidnapped Lufthansa-plan "Landshut", which finally got stormed by the elite unit GSG9 in Mogadishu. The award of this set, which took place in 1978, most likly relates to this work.Condition: II

SwedenMedal for the Grenadiers of the Lifeguards-Bataillon of King Gustav IV. Adolf of Schweden.Silver , on yellow-blue ribbon.SVH S. 242. 53 x 47 mm, 26,8 g.Gustav Adolf was born on Novmeber 1st 1778 in Stockholm and became, only 14 years of age, already king in 1792 when King Gustav III. was murdered. Till 1796 he was under the guardianship of his uncle Karl XIII. Duing his complete reign he had a hard stand, which was made even worse due to the wars causing many casualities and bad harvests. After he was kicked off the thron in 1809 he was send into exile and his uncle Karl XIII. took the thron over. Gustaf Adolf died on February 7th 1837 in Exile in St. Gallen. At his parting in 1799 he rewarded the grenadiers of his Lifeguards-Bataillon on his castle Drottningholm the medal. After his entthronment he medal was seized and the naming on the reverse GUSTAF IV ADOLPH was changed into KONUNGEN - with which the awardees got the decorations re-distributed. Of greatest rarity. A sample of comparison is located in the Air-Force-Museum in Linköping, Sweden.Condition: II

Star: silver, partially giled and enamelled, on pin, with additional hooks; in red gold embossed case, maker mark of Fratelli Travani, Roma in the lid; award document from 1983; paper of approval; statutes.CD S. 45ff, VPI1 S. 97. 70 x 69 mm / 82 x 81 mm, 156,1 g m.B. / 79, 4 g.Björn-Olof Alholm was born on April 25th 1925. His father was Oberstleutnant Georg Jaeger Alholm and commanded an Artillery Division during the Winter War. Björn-Olof went, together with his father beeing only 16 years of age, into the war and was present at the big battle of SUomussalmi and at Raate. In July 1941 - during the Continuation War - he got wounded, but was back on the battlefield again for the fightings at Kuuterselässä and Tali-Ihantala before he went to officers school in fall 1944. After the war, he graduaded in 1948 with a masters decret in political science and started to work in the Ministery of Foreign Affairs. His service made him go to stay in Frankfurt am Main, Washington, Brussels, New York and Moscow. President Kekkonen promoted him in 1970 to Ambassador of Finnland in Moscow. Three years later he was transfered to Bonn. His more then 40 years long career ended in 1991 in Stockholm - and among the honorary guests there where King Carl XVI. Gustav and Silvia from Sweden. Alholm distinguished himself by a clear and open minded polictical view during his whole career. And even criticism within the own crowd wasnt unusual, making him an honest person. For the sovjet-finnish relation he always had an ear and eye - what caused, that he worked on this topic also scientifically. Making him able to recognice a kind of historical trauma and a form of identity shifting with the finnish Autonomy movement. In 2001 he published his book Dissident Ambassador (Toisinajattelija suurlähettiläänä) which deals with this topic.
