CRICKET: A hardback edition of Cricket-The Silver Lining by Cyril Washbrook, published by Sportsguide Publications Ltd., London, c.1950, signed to the front pastedown and front free endpapers by thirteen members of the South African cricket team who played Lancashire at Old Trafford, 16th, 18th & 19th June 1951, including Athol Rowan, Eric Rowan, Jackie McGlew, Jack Cheetham, Percy Mansell, John Waite, George Fullerton, Clive van Ryneveld, Geoff Chubb, Roy McLean etc. The signed pages have been attractively decorated by an accomplished artist with colour pencil drawings of a South African springbok and British lion wearing cricket blazers and holding their bats as they stand opposite each other. All of the signatures appear to a clear area at the centre. Also signed by three cricket officials to a separate page. The book lacks the dustjacket. Slight fading to the spine, otherwise VG

Signed (`Truly yours, Charlie Chaplin`) in fountain pen ink to the base of the image. Professionally matted in grey and dark red and framed and glazed in a silver coloured frame to an overall size of 13.5 x 15.5. VG
STAR TREK: Signed colour 10 x 8 photograph by two of the main cast members of the 2009 film Star Trek individually, Chris Pine (James T. Kirk) and Zachary Quinto (Spock), the image showing the actors standing together in head and shoulders poses in costume from Star Trek. PRESLEY ELVIS: (1935-1977) American Rock `n` Roll Singer. Blue ink signature (`Sincerely, Elvis Presley`) on a sheet of small oblong 8vo white notepaper. Professionally matted in white with silver borders alongside a 5.5 x 3.5 candid colour photograph of Presley giving an autograph from the back of his car and another 7.5 x 9.5 photograph. Framed and glazed in a silver colour frame to an overall size of 24.5 x 18.5. VG
EVEREST EXPEDITION 1953: A First Day Cover commemorating the 25th Anniversary of the first ascent of Mount Everest in 1953 individually signed by both Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay, the mountaineers who were the first to reach the summit of Everest. The cover features a colour image of Everest, with an inset silver coloured medallion, and is postally cancelled at Namche Bazar, Nepal, 29th May 1978. Both Hillary and Tenzing have signed with their names alone in black ink to clear areas of the cover. VG
OPERA: Two large colour 23 x 19.5 printed advertising cards, the first promoting a recording of Verdi`s La Traviata by Luciano Pavarotti and Cheryl Studer and featuring a large colour image of the two singers, signed in silver ink by Pavarotti and dated 1996 in his hand, the second promoting a recording of Rossini`s Il Barbiere di Siviglia by Placido Domingo and featuring a large colour image of the singer in costume, signed in gold ink by Domingo with his name alone. [EDWARD VIII]: (1894-1972) King of the United Kingdom January-December 1936, later Duke of Windsor. A silver tea kettle stand, of 3.5" in height. The stand, of circular design with three scroll feet, holds a separate spirit burner, complete with wick, which bears the Prince of Wales feathers and a crown engraved to the lid and the makers hallmark of John Emes, London, 1800 to the base. Previously belonging to the Duke of Windsor. Originally sold at Christie`s in Rome as part of their auction of the personal effects of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, 17th June 2004. Ltd., with facsimile engraving of Diana`s holograph to the outer edge, `Happy Christmas, love from Diana, 1994`. Hallmarked London, 1994, and with makers stamp to the base. Presented by Diana as a Christmas gift to her chauffeur. Contained in the original Garrard box and with the original stand. Rare. EX
[CHARLES]: (1948- ) Prince of Wales. A small black leather folding wallet by Gerald Benney, featuring a small circular silver engraved Prince of Wales feathers to the front. Presented by Charles as a gift to his chauffeur. Complete with the original dark blue anti-tarnish moleskin bag and contained in the original Gerald Benney presentation box. EX

A small selection of gifts presented by the Prince and Princess of Wales to their chauffeur, comprising a black Parker fountain pen, an attractive oblong 8vo green photograph album, bound in half-morocco with gilt edging to the cover and spine, and two silver printed crests to the cover, marbled endpapers, by Ettinger of London, and a First Day Cover commemorating the 25th Anniversary of the Investiture of H.R.H. The Prince of Wales, postally cancelled at Buckingham Palace, 1st March 1994, and addressed to the Prince and Princess`s chauffeur at Kensington Palace. EX, 3
STALIN JOSEPH: (1878-1953) Soviet Dictator, General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union 1922-53, Premier of the Soviet Union 1941-53. Vintage signed 6 x 9.5 magazine photograph showing Stalin in a close-up head and shoulders portrait. Signed with his name alone in blue fountain pen ink across a light area of the image. Professionally double matted in pale brown suede with decorative metal borders above a silver coloured metal engraved plaque featuring a biography. Framed and glazed in a large, imposing silver coloured and dark wooden frame to an overall size of 25.5 x 33.5. Signed images of Stalin are extremely rare. LAUREL STAN (1890-1965) & HARDY OLIVER (1892-1957) English and American Film Comedians. Blue ink signatures by both Laurel and Hardy individually on a page removed from an autograph album. Matted in silver and gold beneath an oval image of the duo in costume and framed and glazed in a black and gold coloured frame to an overall size of 12.5 x 19.5. A few light spots of foxing at the base of the page, not affecting the signatures, otherwise VG
LAUREL STAN: (1890-1965) English Film Comedian. T.L.S., Stan, one page, 8vo (folding aerogramme), n.p., (Santa Monica, California), 26th August 1963, to Vic and Gladys Silver. Laurel states that he is pleased his correspondents received an early Music Hall recording and enjoyed it and further refers to the Kelso Brothers, whom he remembers, as well as Syd Fields (sic),`he was playing at the Prince of Wales in a revue, a nice guy but his own worst enemy-success was his defeat, the old story-put a beggar on horseback! He did confide in me that he wasn`t happy being in the West End, would much rather be back in the provinces touring around-evidently this is the reason to turned to alcohol as a means of escape-poor guy.`. Laurel continues his letter by mentioning other mutual acquaintances, gadget books and `interesting & unique merchandise`. VG Laurel refers to Sid Field (1904-1950) British Stage and Vaudeville Actor.
