An early George III silver coffee pot, London 1766 (maker's mark indistinct), of baluster form, the domed hinged cover with flame finial, the body with foliate mantling, on a gadrooned domed circular foot and with wooden scroll handle (handle lacking upper pin), engraved with an armorial. Height 26cm, 27 troy ounces.

Property of the Late first Countess Haig: a striking seed pearl and sequin-embroidered ivory gauze evening or wedding dress, early 1920s, by "Madame Isobel", full-length and long-sleeved, the collar and cuffs embroidered with foliate patterns and flowerheads in bands of seed pearls and silver sequins of various shapes, with drop waist, the skirt with scalloped edge similarly decorated, over a gauze underskirt and further underskirt in a silver lame, weighted and bearing label "Isobel, London and Harrogate". Length 145cm, waist 72cm. Note: Isobel Spevak Harris was born in Russia in 1888 but grew up in Lancashire. She started her career by sending sketches to Parisian designers which they appear to have bought. The money she earned allowed her to set up a business initially in Harrogate and then in the West End of London. Her brand, Madame Isobel, was a leading British fashion house of the interwar period. At it's peak in the 1930's she employed approximately 400 people. Norman Hartnell was one of her neighbours on Grosvenor Street in Mayfair. Her designs were noted for their simplicity, dignity and femininity as well as the high quality of the fabric and finish.
A collection of late 19th and early 20th century silver, gilt-metal and other buttons, contained in a 19th century mahogany collector's cabinet, fitted with four drawers within a fall-front carcass and with brass "campaign" handle, three drawers containing buttons comprising: a set of nine Continental 800 grade silver buttons cast with foliage; a set of six buttons, Birmingham 1902, in the Art Nouveau taste each decorated with a girl holding a flower: four white metal buttons each modelled as a lady's boot; a set of six, circular, cast with c-scrolls, Birmingham 1902; a set of six in white metal resembling coins; a set of six in white metal inset with foil and enamel foliage; a group of seventeen yellow metal and gold-plated of various sizes repousse with dogs, horses, foxes etc; and a further group of jet buttons of various sizes and designs.
