Second World War German soldiers photograph album, the cover has a representation of a German steel helmet with Werhmacht decal in relief to the top corner and is embossed in silver lettering 'Kriegserinnerungen' ( War Memories), the albums photographs starts by showing the soldier as a signaller in an infantry regiment in Germany, as the war progresses he is shown on campaign in believed first in Greece then Russia where he is wounded and is later shown wearing the ribbon for the Iron Cross 2nd Class, Wound Badge in Black and Infantry Assault Badge, the photos show a vehicle with the formation sign for the 50th Infantry Division and graves for the 123rd Infantry Regiment which formed part of the Division, the album finishes with well done pencil drawings of the soldier and a photograph of him with the shoulder boards of a 2nd lieutenant, the album has an entry that mentions Rolf Mense, Lieutenant in an Artillery Regiment so it is possible he transferred to the artillery, very interesting album worthy of further research

Bodie 66 Sqn 1940', Pilot Officer Crelin 'Bogle' Brodie fought in the Battle of Britain with 66 Squadron Royal Air Force flying Spitfires out of Kenley, born in Suffolk Brodie went to Ipswich School and joined the R.A.F. in 1939, credited with 7 aerial victories Brodie was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for 'great courage, skill and determination' in the performance of his duties,tragically, Crelin Brodie was killed aged 21, in a training accident while serving with 152 Squadron, when his Spitfire spun into the ground at Eglinton, he is buried at St Canices Churchyard, Eglinton, Londonderry, Northern Ireland, also included is a a 1st edition of the book 'Ten Fighter Boys' , published in 1942 it features accounts of the experiences of Battle of Britain pilots including 'Bogle' Brodie, (2)

First World War Prosthetic Eye, Documentation and photographs to Private James Hills, the three photographs show Private Hills at the beginning of his service with no distinguishing marks on his uniform, and at the end when he has three wound stripes, a good conduct chevron and Lewis Gunners qualification badge to his left sleeve, the documentation includes his Active Service Will, bearing the stamp of the Infantry Records Office, Exeter, dated September 1917 and held in its original envelope, a Journey Meat Card dated 2nd March 1918 used for drawing rations while on leave, a Ministry of Pensions form continuing his pension for the year 1920-1921, a Ministry of Labour form directing James Hills to Submit to a medical examination by a Medical Board having volunteered for the Home Guard in the Second World War, a pair of spectacles and James Hills glass eye, sadly repaired, fitted as a result of his wounds, Private Hills enlisted on the 11th December 1915 in the 15th (Service) Battalion the Suffolk Regiment with the service number 24299 but was transferred to the 14th Battalion Hampshire Regiment with the service number 26639,he was discharged due to wounds on the 23rd March 1918, records show him entitled to the 1914-1918 British War Medal and Victory Medal, and Silver War Badge serial number 356936, 14th Battalion Hampshire Regiment formed part of the 116th Brigade, 39th Division which fought at the Third Battle of Ypres (Passchendaele) in 1917
A rare Early Victorian General Officer's Uniform to Major General Sir Archibald Galloway KCB Chairman of the East India Company, consisting of a scarlet double-breasted coatee with gilt regulation General Officers pattern buttons in pairs down the front, rich gold embroidery to the collar, cuffs, cuff-slashes and pocket-flaps and fine embroidered skirt-ornaments, also adorned with gilt buttons, to the left breast are ribbon loops to hold the Star of the Order of the Bath,a pair of blue cloth overalls with gold oakleaf lace stripes 2 inches in width to the seams, the detachable epaulettes, gold-lace straps bearing a Major Generals insignia of a Queen Victoria pattern Crown above crossed Sword and Baton in silver/bullion embroidery and lined with red silk are held in a black fitted tin, a white over red feather plume for fitting to a General Officers Bicorn hat is held in a transit tin, also included is a crimson leather waist belt with gilt clasp mounted with VR cypher in white metal and matching sword-slings (belt frayed), a pair of officers box spurs, and a General Officers Sash in gold and crimson, an engraving by Jean Ferdinand Joubert after Henry William Pickersgill of Major General Galloway wearing this uniform is held by the British Museum, the uniform, particularly the trousers has suffered with some mothing over the years but is still a rare attributed item to a distinguished Victorian General(Archibald Galloway was born in Perth, Scotland in 1779, on 29th Oct 1800 he was appointed Ensign in the 14th Bengal Native Infantry Regiment, he afterwards served in the 29th, 10th and 2nd Bengal Native Infantry Regiments and was gazetted Colonel of the 58th Bengal Native Infantry Regiment in 1836. Galloway took part in the Defence of Delhi in 1803 and distinguished himself by his gallantry at the bloody siege of Bhurtpore where he sustained a wound to the throat in 1805. He was nominated a Companion of the Order of the Bath in Queen Victoria’s Coronation Honours in 1838 and in 1840 was elected a director of the Honourable East India Company. On 23rd November 1841 he received the rank of Major General. He was knighted by Queen Victoria at Buckingham Palace on 25th August 1848 and the following year became Chairman of the Honourable East India Company, he died at his home in Harley Street London on 6th April 1850)
