Movement ticks when wound, light surface to the enamel dial.

EDWARD EAST; a late 17th century white metal pair cased pocket watch, the plain unmarked outer case enclosing the watch, with bull's eye glass above silvered dial set with champlevé enamel Roman numerals, Arabic minute markers and central roundel inscribed 'East London' within a rampant lion and unicorn, the verge movement inscribed 'Edw. Eaft [sic], London', no.120, with pierced tulip columns, pierced and engraved balance cock and silver regulator disc, dial diameter 4.1cm, outer case diameter 5.5cm.Additional InformationThe outer case is rather tired. There is a repair to the upper thin rim which is around where the stem protrudes. This is also a split approx 3cm to the main section of the back. A small split around the push button. The watch itself has a good dial. The movement ticks when wound, although slightly catches and the hinge is very slightly loose. The stem has been repaired with solder both exterior and interior and neither case carries a visible hallmark.

Very slight misshaping to the rim of the dial but overall in good order, no guarantees given as to working order.

MARKHAM MARWICK OF LONDON; a mid to late 18th century silver triple cased pocket watch for the Ottoman market, the white metal outer case with embossed foliate Eastern decoration enclosing a plain second case and the watch with bull's eye glass above a silvered dial set with champlevé enamel Turkish numerals inscribed 'Markham Marwick London', with beetle and poker hands, the fusee movement with crested tulip pillars, pierced and engraved balance cock, silver regulator disc and signed and no.4595, both the inner and second case hallmarked for London 1777 with the inner case having the number matching the movement and the unusual feature of a military crow's foot applied to the case, diameter of dial 3.8cm, diameter of outer case 6.2cm.Additional InformationThe movement ticks when wound. The dial is in good order with a very slight scratch to the centre of the named inscription, light surface wear and scratches elsewhere. The inner case has a crude area where the stem meets the body indicating it may have been repaired at some stage and the case is dented and quite thin around the winding hole with further small dents throughout. The second case has surface wear. There is a 4mm split to the rim where the push button joins the upper section and tiny small dents elsewhere. The outer white metal cover has a few old repairs, splits and areas of damage noticeably around the stem and button release.

MARKHAM OF LONDON; an 18th century hallmarked silver pair cased verge pocket watch, the outer case repoussé decorated with two classical figures within rococo scrolls and floral sprays, the watch with silvered dial, champlevé enamel Roman numerals, Arabic minute markers, detailed pierced central panel set with date aperture and with fusee movement, signed and no.17290, with pierced engraved balance cock, silver regulator disc and square baluster columns, the case hallmarked for London 1768, diameter of dial 3.6cm, case diameter 5cm.Additional InformationA few small dents within the repoussé decoration and an old repair beneath the push button, general surface wear and tarnishing to the outer case, the inner case has a good dial, the movement ticks when wound, light surface scratches to the case. There is a repair where the stem meets the case which is unsightly with solder to the interior.

SEAMOURE OF LONDON; a late 18th century silver associated pair cased verge pocket watch, the outer case repoussé decorated with two figures in a landscape, enclosing the watch with bull's eye glass, white enamel dial set with Roman numerals and Arabic minute markers, with signed movement no.12852, pierced balance cock and square baluster columns, the watch hallmarked for London 1791, the pair case hallmarked for London 1779, diameter of dial 3.6cm, diameter of case 5cm.Additional InformationSome wear to the outer case, slightly compressed and slightly rubbed to the raised parts. The watch itself the enamel is in good order with light surface scratches, movement ticks when wound. Old repair to the stem where it meets the body of the watch, general surface scratches throughout.

JOHN LEROUX; a late 18th century yellow metal pair cased verge pocket watch, the plain outer case enclosing the watch with bull's eye glass above white enamel dial inscribed 'Leroux Charing-Cross', with subsidiary seconds hand and Roman numerals, the movement signed J. Leroux Charing Crofs [sic] London 3483, with rounded baluster columns and engraved pierced masked cock centred with a diamond and silver regulator disc, diameter of dial 4.4cm, diameter of outer case 5.5cm.Additional InformationLight surface scratches and wear to the outer case containing an old watch paper, the white enamel dial has light surface scratches, hands probably replaced, the movement ticks when wound. Light surface wear throughout.

A late 18th century gold plated pair cased pocket watch, the outer case with detailed pierced border and case reverse decorated with an enamel roundel in peacock blue and green, with gilt heightening throughout, the case with matching band of pierced decoration inscribed 'Strike/Silent' and with domed glass above the white enamel dial set with Roman numerals, Arabic seconds outer numerals and with diamond/kite hands, the unnamed movement with pierced and engraved masked cock centred with a diamond, silver regulator disc and detailed foliate engraved decoration throughout, repeating and striking on a bell, dial diameter 4.5cm, outer case diameter 6.5cm.Additional InformationThe enamel to the dial is in good order with very minor surface scratches, ticks when wound, some case closes correctly, light surface scratches and rubbing in parts to the gold plate. The enamel to the outer case has minor surface scratches but overall presented in excellent condition.

JOHN CURTIS; a late 18th century verge pair cased pocket watch, the outer case with simulated fern or agate band and centred with an oval vignette of a village church in landscape with bands of gilt stud decoration, the watch with white enamelled dial set with Roman numerals, Arabic minute markers to the quarters and with verge fusee movement signed Jno Curtis, London, 6572, with pierced and engraved balance cock, silver regulator disc and stamped 'ID' to the inside of the case, diameter of dial 3.5cm, diameter of outer case 4.7cm.Additional InformationThe outer case has suffered in some parts, there are three cracks to the border, two around the hinge and one slightly further round. There is a small area of loss around the push button releasing the outer case. Various other small scratches and areas of damage. The enamel dial has an area of approx 5mm x 2mm surface loss around the six marker which is obscuring the Arabic minute mark. Other light scratches to the dial. Movement ticks when wound.
