EDDIE BAILY Two medals presented to Eddie Baily of Tottenham and England whilst he was a Junior. Both are inscribed, one is Hackney Schools Junior Medal 1937-38, the other is Tottenham Y.O.C League Winners 1941-42 with a silver hall-mark. Baily played for Tottenham Juniors before the War started, moved on to Finchley and British Army teams and returned to Tottenham after the War. Generally good
HIBERNIAN- PIN BADGE Small sterling silver Hibernian FC long stem pin badge, probably 1960s. Comes still attached to manufacturers card. The enamel front has "Hibs FC" above a castle crest with "Edinburgh" underneath the castle which is set on a green enamel background. "Silver" is inscribed on the back of the badge. Good
EDDIE BAILY Three London Schools Football Association medals with silver hallmark on the reverse side of each and with the LSFA crest in enamel on the front. All are inscribed, one is Hospital Cup Winners 1937-38, one is Sun Shield Runners Up 1937-38 and the third is Cor. (Corinthian !!) Shield Winners 1938-39. Generally good

The medals have "Silver" inscribed on the reverse and have the Middlesex Crest in enamel on the front. One is inscribed "Senior Cup R.U. 1942-43", the other is inscribed "Senior Cup Winners 1943-4 E.Baily". Generally good
AUSTRIA-ENGLAND 1952 Small silver hall-marked dish with inscription presented to Eddie Baily of England who played in the game v Austria 25/5/1952 in Vienna. England won the game, Baily pushing the ball to Lofthouse who scored to win the game 3-2 and earn his nickname of The Lion of Vienna. The dish is hall-marked and is inscribed "England-Osterreich Wien 25 Mai 1952" . Diameter is 11cm (just over 4 inches). Slightly tarnished. Generally good
[DICKENS (Charles)]. TERNAN (Ellen). Archive of items formerly belonging to either Ellen [Nellie] Ternan, later Ellen Ternan Wharton Robinson following her marriage to Geoffrey Robinson, or their daughter Gladys [later Gladys Reece]. Principally to include a 'Charles Dickens Birthday Book' with presentation inscription by Mary Dickens to Ellen on her birthday, dated March 3rd 1882, with birthday autographs including a Charles Dickens clipped signature for 7th February, and other names for the Dickens and Trollope families. The lot also comprises a few books owned by Ellen Ternan or her daughter; photographs including signed cartes de visite of Garibaldi, Thomas Trollope and Anthony Froude; framed copy of C. Dickens's will framed with four photographs showing Dickens and family members; a Thomas Trollope family photograph in Italy; early 20th century postcards with many sent to Gladys; three photograph albums with some views of 'The Filberts' (the home of Frances Trollope, Gladys's aunt and sister of Ellen Ternan); a crucifix inscribed to Gladys dated 1905, mounted with seed pearls; a silver handled button hook; a watercolour portrait thought to be Ellen's mother; and various other mainly 20th century ephemera relating mainly to Gladys Reece (died 1973). Provenance: The collection was left to Mrs Molly Ayres, friend and carer of Gladys Reece, and thence by descent.

RUEL (Jean) translator, Veterinariae Medicinae libri II, folio, first edition, Paris: [Louis Blaublom] for Simon de Colines, 1530, woodcut equestrian portrait of King Francis I to title, criblé woodcut initials, ruled throughout in red (faded), brown morocco over wooden boards, interlaced foliate scrolls of various colours with gilt ornaments around the papal arms of Paul III Farnese, gilt edges gauffered and painted in colours, ornamental silver clasps, eight heads as bosses, spine worn, title slightly stained, very sporadic foxing throughout, slipcase. The binding is believed to be 19th century.

STAMP ALBUM, COINS and - a German apprenticeship contract dated 1912. The stamp album contains 51 pages of World stamps dating mainly from the 1930's to 60's though there are some pre-1900 examples (most are franked with small number of unfranked). Coins tin includes silver dollars, British £1 note and various other UK and world coins.
MANCHESTER ARTILLERY - a collection of items owned by a former soldier in the Manchester Artillery to include a regiment spoon, a Black Watch badge, rifle sight, 3 miniature spirit levels, a pair of binoculars, tools and a silver Freemasons medal engraved 'Bro Donald Macelland raised 23-12-53 Caledonia Lodge 4847'. All housed in a worn military box marked, 'parts gauge and spares'.
