Elizabeth I (1558-1603), Miscellaneous, Contemporary imitations: Shilling, mm. uncertain, silver (?), reads elizab d g ang fr et hib regi, 5.23g/1h (cf. N 2014; cf. S 2577ff). Of crude style and lettering, good fine and very rare £100-£120 --- Provenance: Glendining Auction, 13 May 1992, lot 267. The obverse mintmark looks like a small leaf, but might pass for a tun or woolpack, the reverse is a small lis or saltire. The type is based on the Sixth and Seventh issue coins, struck 1583-1602
