An interesting collection of medals, ephemera and other items, relating to Petty Officer Rigger Alfred Garrett 142601, who served on board HMY Victoria & Albert. The lot includes: a cased Royal Victorian medal, together with the original letter inviting him to Buckingham Palace to receive it (dated May 1947), a World War group of six medals, including: a '14/15 Star, Campaign and Victory medals with a George V Silver Jubilee and a George VI Coronation medal and a George V HMY Victoria & Albert Long Service medal. Also included is Mr Garrett's Gunnery and Torpedo history sheet, his bosun's whistle, silver plated cigarette box, a WWII Defense and Campaign medal (boxed) and a photograph album containing pictures of the Royal family, including princesses Elizabeth and Margaret on board the Royal yacht, together with Mr Garrett's original invitation to the 1937 Royal Coronation Celebration in the gardens of Buckingham Palace.
