Sotheby's Catalogue, 14 March 1820, for The Valuable Collection of Coins in Gold, Silver & Copper of the Late Richard Miles of Tavistock Street, London. The prices & buyers are neatly recorded in manuscript. The catalogue lists 1,715 lots on 117pp., plus a final advertisement leaf at rear for forthcoming auctions. Bearing the bookplate of John Trotter Brocket (1788-1842), a British attorney, antiquarian, numismatist, philologist & writer. Octavo, worn half-calf, untrimmed edges. Evidently this is the year in which the collection was sold, and not 1823 as some online sources suggest

A collection of Royal Academy & Society of Arts silver prize medals comprising: For the Best Drawing from the Antique, 9 December 1820; For an Original Chalk Drawing from a Statue, 1820; For an Original Historical Painting in Oil, 1821; For the Best Drawing from the Life, 10 December 1822; For an Original Design for the Society's Vignette, 1825, each medal housed in a leather case. Together with a gilt bronze medal for Elizabeth Wood's "Catalogue No. 759", 1873, housed in a George Morgan case. Condition varied (6)Notes: John Wood studied at Sass's and the Royal Academy schools, where in 1825 he gained the gold medal for painting. According to a Christie's sale catalogue of 16 February 1872, Wood as a student at the RA 'obtained the notice of Fuseli and Sir Thomas Lawrence, and under the auspices of the latter he commenced his career in art'. He won the competition for the altarpiece of St James's, Bermondsey [The Ascension] 1844, and was commissioned by Earl de Grey to paint the ceiling panels in Wrest Park, Bedfordshire. His work is represented in the National Portrait Gallery, Sir John Soane’s Museum and the V&A. A large folder of original sketches & watercolours by John Wood, including historical & religious subjects, together with a quantity of engravings & lithographs, some of which are after John Wood. Of note is a small study for The Ascension, mounted with a letter informing Wood that his design has won the competition for St. James's, Bermondsey [see notes below], plus a larger, more finished study for the same; a study for Joseph Expounding the Dream of Pharaoh's Chief Butler and Baker in Prison, mounted with manuscript caption recording this as the 'Gold Medal Picture at the Royal Academy 1825'; a study for Adam and Eve Lamenting Over the Dead Body of Abel, signed & dated l.l., 1821, captioned as 'Gold Medal Model at the Society of Arts 1822'; a study for The Baptism of Christ in the Jordan, mounted with a letter informing Wood that this picture has won 'the £1000 prize' in the exhibition; a study for Elizabeth in the Tower After the Death of Her Sister Queen Mary, mounted with a letter awarding Wood the silver medal for this work, plus a handwritten copy of the minutes from the RA council on reaching this decision. Star Wars - Return Of The Jedi (1983) - dual autographed 16x12" movie poster photograph, signed by actors Brian Wheeler (Ewok and Jawa) and Michael Henbury (Ewok). Signed by both in silver ink to a dark area. Autographed obtained personally by the vendor.
Doctor Who - The First Doctor - Carole Ann Ford (Susan) and Waris Hussein (Director - An Unearthly Child) - autographed Eaglemoss made ' First Doctor Companion Set ' action figure display, in black and white. Signed to the front by Ford and Hussein in black and silver ink respectively. Contents mint and untouched.
