Condition Report: Light surface scratches and dirt throughout. There appears to be a small area of loss and subsequent retouching to the background at the right of the sitter's cheek (approx. 3mm) - this is visible in the online illustration. There is a small patch of brown staining to the sitter's waistcoat (visible in the online illustration) and just to the right of this there are one or two very small spots of loss (also visible in the online illustration). Light rubbing and abrasions to the framing edges. Unexamined out of glazed frame. The mount generally in good condition commensurate with age. One of the white paste mounts at '5 o'clock' a little duller than the rest, and possibly a replacement. Condition Report Disclaimer

Contents generally good, clean, bright, occasional pale spotting and marks, two swatted flies; cloth good with light bumping and faint wear to corners, shelf-lean; light toning and pale spotting to outer edges of text-block; jacket clean and bright with slight toning to spine and a couple of nicks at edges.
