Gilt Silver neck chain composed by 8 lions passant with red enameled tongues, 4 crowned "K", 4 crowned "G" monograms, a centre link in the form of a double eagle charged with the "G II" Royal Monogram and the closure link with a framed double eagle with rear "coulisse" catch, Order's Cross in gilt silver and enamels with accurately painted centre medallion, the reverse with the Royal Greek coat of arms, upper crown with red enameled inner cap, the Breast Star in gilt silver and enamels with fine, miniature painted, convex centre medallion within a blue circlet with inscription and upper crown, the reverse with oval maker's mark of "Spink&Son, London" and vertical, broad pin. This Order, was instituted in 1975 to take place of the abolished Order of George I, it ranks after the Order of the Redeemer and is awarded for special merits and achievements towards the State.
