A Household Cavalry officer’s levée dress sword, c1840, straight, fullered blade 33” (tip slightly shortened) with maker’s name “Andrews 9 Pall Mall London” in etched panel on one side at forte, gilt semi boat-shell hilt (the inner portion of the guard officially removed), reinforced edge, upswept quillon, the guard screwed into ball pommel, silver wirebound grip, in a non matching brass mounted leather scabbard. Good Condition, the blade retaining much original polish. Plate 43

A rare Third Reich TeNo (Technische Nothilfe) Leader’s dagger, the blade etched with the TeNo eagle and original Eickhorn logo, and numbered 0970, the hilt with oxidised silver finish, orange grip and silver bullion portepee, in its scabbard, the iron throat also numbered 0970 (slightly indistinct owing to pitting of the throat), with its original dress pattern hanging straps, with distinctive cogwheel buckles. Good Condition. Bowman describes this as “probably one of the rarest of the Third Reich production daggers”, as the numbers produced were relatively small.

†An officer’s lance cap of the Bedfordshire Imperial Yeomanry (1901), top of skull in black patent leather with gilt leaf ornaments on the corners, upper sides of skull in ribbed blue cloth, with gilt metal strips on four angles, gilt metal gimp boss with plain ball button in centre. Gilt metal band around centre of cap, peak of leather with metal trim, the badge consists of usual gilt rayed type with a silver wreath of laurel and oak spray surmounted by a post 1902 crown. In the centre the silver badge of the regiment being an eagle with a castle on its breast. Black swan feather plume with gilt socket, ring chinchain. Very Good Condition Plate 15
