Gilding slightly worn around rim and lip, otherwise good. Two dings to bottom edge of bowl; oither minor dings and light surface scratches commensurate with age and use.

Stamped 'MAPPIN & WEBB' to underside. Foot slightly misshapen, slight rocking to base. A few dings/creases to the bowl (biggest approx. 1.5cm long). Surface tarnish and light scratches commensurate with age and use.

In 1843 the company became Hunt & Roskell until 1897.Paul Storr entered into business with Rundell, Bridge & Rundell in 1807, who were the Royal Goldsmiths at the time. John Hunt followed in Storrs footsteps, and the company Hunt & Roskell was listed in 1843 as Silversmith and Jewellers to Queen Victoria. Due to the Queen's extended European family, they became the most important suppliers to the affluent society around the world.The marks are clear. No personalised engraving or evidence of erasure. Slightly misshapen to the top and bottom. Does not rock.
