A George V Presentation Silver Salver, Atkin Brothers, Sheffield 1917, with shaped rim on scroll supports, engraved to the centre with the badge of the Royal Army Medical Corps and facsimile signatures, the reverse with presentation inscription to Capt.A.C.Vidal D.S.O on the occasion of his marriage, from his brother officers...Chatham, 24th September 1917, 37cm diameter, 45oz 6dwt Provenance: Ampleforth Abbey Major Alan Cunliffe Vidal was captured in France August 1914, he was eventually held at the Wittenberg POW camp where he was a key part in the treatment of a large scale Typhus outbreak within the camp in 1915. It is thought of the 13,000 prisoners held at the camp, there were up to 1,200 patients at any one time. He was finally released in February 1916, and on his return awarded the Distinguished Service Order and Gold Medal of the Order of St. John for his service in combating the epidemic. After the war, and a brief stint in India, he joined Ampleforth as the College doctor where he resided until his death in 1956.

It is stamped '925S', 'STERLING', 'NORWAY' with maker's mark for Ivor T. Holth, in our opinion it would test as silver gilt. The gilt is worn. It fastens with a tongue and box clasp. A Silver Bracelet and Earring Suite, by Wiwen Nilsson, formed of rectangular shaped links, bracelet length 19.5cm, earring lenth 2.4cm, with screw fittings (2) see illustration Wiwen Nilsson, a silversmith and jeweller, born in 1897, Copenhagen, Denmark, found fame after the 1930 Stokholm Exhibition for his minimalist, clean designs and later became the jeweller to the King of Sweden. He soon became known globally as one of the leading designers of the mid-twentieth century, opening a shop in New York in the 1940s. The bracelet and earrings are in good condition. The bracelet is stamped 'STERLING', SWEDEN, town mark, Swedish national mark and date code 'E9' for 1955 and signed Wiwen Nilsson. The earrings are stamped '930', with town mark, Swedish national mark, date code 'E9' for 1955 and signed Nilsson Wiven. In our opinion they would test as silver. The bracelet fastens with a hook clasp, the earrings have screw fittings. Gross weight 36.6 grams. Condition Report made 25th April 2017.
A Russian Silver and Cloisonné Enamel Cigarette Case, Assayer's mark for Ivan Sergeyevich Lebedkin, Moscow 1896-1908, maker's mark indistinct probably CM? (cyrillic), decorated with scrolling foliage in polychrome enamels, on a pale blue ground, within bead borders, the front with a circular reserve featuring a monogram, gilt interior 10.5cm wide, 5oz 16dwtMany small chips to the enamel in places, particularly on the borders and corners near the hinge. One corner with four border reserves missing enamel entirely. One elasticated strap from the interior detached. Box closes well and catch is working properly.

As per decription one bottlle has been compeletely smashed and re-stuck and would need replacing. The dolphin feet need straightening slightly. Clear marks ot underside of base. Both bottles fully marked to mount and part marked to inside of cover. One cover with sideways movement when open.
