Notts. & Derby Regt. unmarked 15ct, 9ct. gold & silver & enamel sweetheart badge. The pin fitting tests as 9ct. gold, the back and part of the front of the badge tests as 15ct. gold. J E Guy P/J.111698), 1939-45 Star, Atlantic Star + France & Germany Clasp, War Medal, Royal Victorian Medal GV (Silver) (J E Guy J111698 AB), Naval LSGC Medal GVI (J.111698 JE Guy PO. HMS Edinburgh Castle). With original named RVM Certificate. RVM confirmed to roll for Service at KGV Funeral 18/2/1936. His Citation reads 9th July 1944 'Petty Officer J E Guys example and bearing during the period June 6th to July 6th, 1944, whilst performing minesweeping and escort duties were exemplary. He was found to be quite fearless in the face of accurate fire from enemy shore batteries in Sword area on 29th June, and his handling of the casualties embarked was invaluable'.
