A Victorian silver cased half hunter pocket watch, the movement by Charles Frodsham of London, inscribed verso "No. 010074 By Appointment to The Queen Chas Frodsham 84 Strand London", the circular dial with Roman numerals inscribed "Chas Frodsham London" and with subsidiary seconds' dial, the case hall-marked by Fred Thoms, London 1890, the case with Roman numerals to the exterior CONDITION REPORTS Has a large section of masking tape attached to the back - has been on there some time leaving a heavy residue. There is a dent to the case to the top. The glass is actually plastic and loose. Outside diameter is 15 cm. The dial has some slight wear. The hinge has had some previous attention. Watch is running if wound, however, it feels a little tight. The front cover opens on its springs.

The velvet is faded in places and ripped in places. Silver is tarnished throughout. Bears handwritten inscription to the front page and writing to the back. Unknown if complete. An 18th Century carved giltwood and gesso framed wall mirror in the Chinese Chippendale taste, the oval plate within a multiple plate border and C scroll and acanthus framework surmounted a waterfall grotto flanked by two phoenix with spread wings surmounted by an urn of flowers, oak leaves and acorns 180 cm high x 98 cm wide CONDITION REPORTS The overall condition appears to be "country house" good though clearly some signs of old restoration and re-painting in several areas including the right leg of the left bird - wired and re-painted. Right bird appears to have had wing damaged and repaired at some point in the past. The top finial is removable. See images for further detail of gilding and cracking, loss, etc. The plates appear to be original with silver spotted in several areas and certainly a grey-ish colour throughout. Again, see images for further detail. The back is covered with a hard board panel which may be there for support for the main structure so has not been removed for fear of causing any damage.
