Signed First Day Cover by both Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers individually, the American cover featuring a colour image of a couple dancing and bearing a postage stamp commemorating dance. Postally cancelled New York, 26th April 1978. Signed by Astaire in bold black ink and Rogers in silver ink, each with their names alone to clear areas. Together with an American First Day Cover signed by Noel Coward with his name alone in blue ink, 1956, and also including Cole Porter (1891-1964) American Composer and Songwriter. T.L.S., Cole Porter, one page, 8vo, New York, 20th November 1951, to composer Irving Schlein, on the printed stationery of The Waldorf Astoria. Porter informs his correspondent `At present any date for my next musical is much too vague. I do know, however, that Feuer and Martin have already spoken to Pembroke Davenport as to a possible musical director`. The letter is irregularly trimmed and has tape stains to the corners, one just affecting the conclusion of his signature. FR (1) to VG, 3

Signed in bold black ink to a light area at the centre of the image. Professionally matted in black and white and framed and glazed in a silver and black colour frame to an overall size of 26 x 32. Also including an unsigned presentation CD of Coldplay`s album Parachutes (2000) mounted alongside an engraved plaque, presented to Tower in recognition of more than 300,000 copies of the album being sold in the United Kingdom. Scarce, vintage signed and inscribed 8 x 10 photograph of May seated in a half length pose proudly holding a toy model of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer in his hands. Signed in bold blue ink across a light area at the head of the image and inscribed to the noted autograph collector Rev. Cornelius Greenway, `With every good wish to Cornelius Greenway (on Rudolph`s 23rd Birthday)-from Rudolph`s Daddy, Robert L. May` and dated Christmas 1962 in his hand. Together with two other autographs related to Christmas comprising Jay Livingston (1915-2001) American Composer. Vintage signed and inscribed 8 x 10 photograph of Livingston in a head and shoulders pose. Signed in black ink to a clear area of the image. Livingston has added two musical quotations to a clear area of the background, one from Silver Bells and the other from Mona Lisa; and John Frederick Coots (1897-1985) American Songwriter. A.M.Q.S., J. Fred Coots, on a small oblong 8vo card, n.p., n.d. Coots has boldly penned a three bar quotation which he identifies as being from Santa Claus Is Coming to Town. Fountain pen ink signature (`Edward P`) as Prince of Wales, on a page removed from an autograph album. Together with a silver vesta case by Garrard & Co., bearing the hallmark of Sebastian Garrard, London, 1920, and bearing the engraved initial E and Prince of Wales feathers to one side, apparently presented by the Prince of Wales to Cyril Evans, Gymnasium instructing officer on board the SS Olympic. With four matches present and contained in the original Garrard & Co. presentation box. Small tear at the head of the album page, just affecting one letter of the signature. G to about VG, 2

Raglan informs his correspondent that he is pleased with some papers and comments `I should be glad if you would permit me to have a copy of it.` Attractively and professionally matted in deep red alongside an engraving of Raglan. SCARLETT JAMES YORKE: (1799-1871) British General, a hero of the Crimean War. Scarlett led the charge of the Heavy Brigade at Balaclava. A.L.S., J. Yorke Scarlett, with rank beneath, three pages, 8vo, Crimea, 26th September 1855, to Sir Hew Ross. Scarlett announces `I am very anxious to submit to your notice the name of First Lieutenant Frederick Lyon of the Royal Artillery as a candidate for the Horse Artillery knowing him to be a clever & splendid young man & one who would I think be a credit to that beautiful branch of your service.` The General continues `You will be happy to hear that the Horse Artillery attached (to) our Cavalry are looking very well & do us great credit though we have not had an opportunity of bringing them into action this summer except a few shots fired by the C Troop on the 16th at the enemy.` Scarlett continues to refer to other military matters and in concluding confesses to being jealous of a Troop of Horse Artillery being attached to the Infantry, `but I concluded the arrangement is all for the best & good of the service`. A letter of fine content. Attractively and professionally matted in deep red alongside a brief printed biography and an oval engraving of Captain Nolan. Framed and glazed (to both sides to show each page of the letter) in a silver coloured frame to an overall size of 15 x 17.5.
