DC comics: Green Lantern. A group of sixty-seven (67) comic book issues (1977-2013).The first Green Lantern character, Alan Scott was created in 1940 by Martin Nodell (1915 2006) and Bill Finger (1914 - 1974) during the Golden Age of American comic books. Later in 1959, in the Silver Age of comics, John Broome (1913 1999) and Gil Kane (1926 -2000) reconceived the character as Hal Jordan, whilst introducing the Green Lantern Corps concept. The tone of the title shifted from fantasy to science fiction, continuing to present day. In the Bronze age Dennis ONeil (1939 2020) and famed artist Neal Adams (1941 2022) introduced John Stewart, a new Green Lantern notable for being one of DC Comics first black superheroes.
