Lot 304

A Chinese Export silver filigree card case, maker's mark YKC, unidentified but attributed to Canton, circa 1890, shaped rectangular with projecting points either side, pull-off cover with small applied vacant reserve to take a crest or initials, the central panel applied with a dragon and flowers, the maker's mark on a small applied rectangular silver label with cut corners, 9 cm. high, wt. 42 gm.; also a late Victorian silver-plated purse engraved with foliate scrolls around vacant shield to front, reverse plain, with chain and finger ring, lined in bluey-green silk, (2). Card case:- All the filigree appears to be intact and no losses but some areas have been pushed down in places and some gentle straightening is required, in one or two places small silver solder visible that may be in the making or tiny repairs (?). Purse has some small areas of wear to plating on the plain back

Miller, R.A.M.C., also their respective ribbons with brooch fitting; three Royal Army Medical Corps buttons mounted as a brooch; a part-enamelled sweetheart brooch for the R.A.M.C.; an Imperial Service breast badge; a 1953 Coronation medal with ribbon in original box; two A.R.P. badges, one in hallmarked silver, London, 1936; a War Badge with brooch fitting, awarded for honourable discharge due to wounds or sickness; a brass St.John Ambulance Association fob with suspension loop, inscribed to 159516 Henry Miller; and a white metal and enamel Founder's badge with brooch fitting to the National Sports Club, Assam, chased with a rhino, with brooch fitting , in original box, all contained in a small jewellery box .Generally overall good condition. Assam badge has chips to enamel at base of circlet.(13)

Mordan & Co., circa 1845-60, the engine turned barrel signed 'S.Mordan & Co Makers', with chased sliding piece and finial, the latter set with hardstone and unscrews to reveal compartment for six leads, 9.3mm long CONDITION: small pin head dent to barrel, missing the piece to secure the lead.
