Scottish Silver / Sporting Interest - A George III silver member's badge for The Edinburgh Skating Club, the oval badge engraved to the obverse with a pair of crossed ice skates and a banner with the motto Ocior Euro (Swifter Than The East Wind), the reverse engraved Edinburgh Skating Society, Hugh Broughton, 1801, Edinburgh assay, no date mark, sponsors mark probably James Douglas, 5.8 cm x 3.8 cm and 17.2 grams all in. The Edinburgh Skating Club was the worlds first figure skating organisation and one of the earliest sports clubs. The Edinburgh Skating Club with Diagrams of Figures and a List of Members, printed by William Grant, 52 West Register Street, 1865 notes Hugh Broughton in the members list, admitted to the club 28th December 1801 and with the occupation Of The Excise.

A Victorian silver, three piece christening set contained in fitted case, London assay 1867 and a cased set of six silver handled butter knives. [2]Condition Report: Butter knives appear in good condition, some light surface scratching, tarnish to the handles. The knife blade from the three piece set has separated from the handle, the tines of the fork are slightly out of shape, some surface scratching and tarnish.
