2005 Porsche 987 Boxster S Transmission: automaticMileage:97702The first generation Boxster (the 986) was introduced in late 1996 and was powered by a 2.5 litre flat six-cylinder engine, many believe the introduction of the Boxster helped save Porsche from acquisition. It was Porsche's first water-cooled, non-front engine sports car as the Boxster is mid-engine, while the 911 has a rear engine. This layout provided a low centre of gravity, near perfect weight distribution and good handling. In 2000, the new Boxster S variant was introduced with a larger 3.2 litre engine and in 2003, styling and engine output was upgraded on both variants. With prices rising the later 3.2 litre S models with manual gearboxes are becoming increasingly sought-after.This example is presented in silver with a black leather interior and black electrically operated hood. It comes with electric windows, stereo, Tiptronic transmission and it also comes with a nice history which includes all its Porsche manuals and booklets. It has a fully stamped service book which is up to date and shows the car has been well looked after by Porsche specialists on a regular basis, with its current MoT test certificate valid until 19th July 2023. Offered without reserve, this represents a great opportunity for some fun on the roads €“ legally of course!

1980 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II Transmission: automaticMileage:5613The Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II is the epitome of 1970's luxury motoring. The original Silver Shadow was released in 1965 and made way for the vastly improved Shadow II in 1977, which would stay in production until 1980. The Silver Shadow II was known for its silky-smooth ride and powerful V8 engine, which provided plenty of power for the car's substantial size. It also featured a number of advanced features for its time, such as a sophisticated self-levelling suspension system and an air conditioning system which could be operated independently for the driver and front passenger. The Shadow II also gained rack and pinion steering, which vastly improved the handling over its predecessor. The interior of the Silver Shadow II was of course the height of luxury, with the finest wood veneer and leather upholstery. This particular example is something of a time-warp, showing just 5,613 miles and having been cherished in present ownership since 1980. The car was purchased as a virtually brand new car, supplied by Lex Mead in Weybridge, allegedly a cancelled order due to the original purchaser opting for the newly released Silver Spirit instead. The car presents exceedingly well in white with a period correct vinyl roof and brown leather upholstery. For a 43 year old car, the condition is certainly impressive, with just a few minor paint blemishes, all commensurate with the age and originality of the car. The history file contains eight MoT test certificates ranging from 1983 to 2018, showing a steady increase in mileage over the time.A vast majority of the mileage was attained during the early part of the cars' life, a Rolls-Royce service stamp records a mileage of 5,179 miles in May 1986, the service sticker is still present inside the driver's door shut. Following that, we have MoT's in September 1986 at 5,216 miles, October 1988 at 5,269 miles and then March 2000 at 5,276 miles. We then arrive at an invoice dating from May 2005, for work at West Hoathly Rolls-Royce specialists, with an odometer reading of 5,380 miles. The work undertaken was a very thorough service and recommissioning process, which includes drive belts, the invoice totalling £3,233.66. The car was then MoT'd again in June 2011 with 5,490 miles and most recently, in November 2018 with 5,603 miles. The most recent service invoice was also in November 2018, again from West Hoathly, for work on a very thorough service and recommission, the invoice totalling £5,465.33.This Shadow II would be the perfect addition to any Rolls-Royce collection, it is likely one of the lowest mileage examples remaining and has been virtually a single owner car its whole life. Don't miss the opportunity to purchase a highly original, remarkably low mileage example of one of the greatest status symbols of the 1970's.

1979 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II Transmission: automaticMileage:87145The Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II is the epitome of 1970's luxury motoring. This particular example is presented in a magnificent colour combination of Ivory paintwork with an orange leather interior, there can't have been many in this combination from the factory. The paintwork is in excellent condition and the interior has a lovely original feel to it. Our vendor purchased the car in December 2021, with the car needing a bit of mechanical recommissioning. The car was sent to Gordon Dale Rolls-Royce and Bentley specialists, who possibly know these cars better than anyone else. Invoices from Gordon Dale (formerly Frank Dale & Stepsons) total £9,917.78, for recommissioning on just about all of the braking system, a thorough mechanical service and replacement of many rubber seals, bushes and so on. The result is a car which is now ready to take daily driver duties in its stride. The car also comes with invoices totalling £3,846.20 for various parts, mainly from Flying Spares. Recent parts to note are a new front rubber bumper, as the old one was showing its age, and a reconditioned steering rack. This Shadow has made up part of our vendors private collection and is now being sold due to another Rolls-Royce joining the garage. If you are on the hunt for a Shadow II which has been properly cared for and you quite fancy a colour combination which will start conversations, then look no further.

1984 Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit Transmission: automaticMileage:47487The Silver Spirit was unveiled in October 1980 as a replacement for the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow. Direct comparison, however, showed only small differences. The new models had slightly grown in length and width; height had been cut a little, although the styling was more modern than that of its predecessor. The interior was dominated by the expected combination of fine wood and sumptuous leather. The Silver Spirit was similar mechanically to the Silver Shadow, benefiting from the superb Rolls-Royce 6,750cc, V8 and sharing many mechanical characteristics of the model it replaced. The instruments were supplemented by digital units which gave such information as the time, elapsed driving time and external temperature and were the first Rolls-Royce to be fitted with a retractable Spirit of Ecstasy. This impressive Rolls-Royce was ordered by franchised dealer Dutton-Forshaw as their demonstrator vehicle. It was registered by them in December 1984 and presents both stylishly and subtlety in special order Ice Green coachwork with a beige leather interior. This look is enhanced with contrasting carpets, gold coachlines and whitewall tyres. The car was purchased by its late owner in 2010. He was a dedicated car enthusiast and owned vehicles by some of the world's most famous marques including Aston Martin, Porsche and Maserati but we are informed that his favourite by far was this Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit which was used for 'high days and holidays'. We are also informed that during his tenure the servicing for the car was done in house at his company. The cars bodywork and interior trim are both in tremendous condition as is the woodwork which appears unmarked. The carpets are unworn, and the car is complemented with a full set of sheepskin over rugs and a complete and unused toolkit. The boot area is unmarked and the engine bay is extremely clean and tidy. This 'time warp' Rolls-Royce is offered to auction with an impressive file of paperwork which includes factory specification and build sheets, an original service book with 15 dealer stamps, an original owner's handbook pack, 28 previous MoT test certificates, a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until February 2024. This car has only become available owing to the death of the owner and is offered without reserve.

2003 Aston Martin DB7 Vantage Coupé Transmission: automaticMileage:67000Using modern build techniques, drag coefficients and powered by a state-of-the-art, all-alloy V12 engine, this was a 'first' for a production Aston Martin and this modern masterpiece was subjected to more testing and development work than any of the marque's previous models.Equipped with all-round independent suspension, and either a new six-speed manual or ZF five-speed automatic with manually selectable ratios, as this example is equipped with, indeed the 15 diameter wheels too were unique to the Vantage which also featured cross-drilled and ventilated Brembo disc brakes and equipped with ABS.With just 67,000 miles covered from new, this has been cherished by the vendor since he acquired it some two years ago with trips to Le Mans and other GT-style events. When not used, it is stored, garaged, and under a (supplied) cover.Other noteworthy features include a mesh grille and new tyres on unmarked alloy wheels. Finished in Solent Silver with a magnolia leather interior piped in blue, the overall condition is extremely good and is said to drive beautifully. It is offered with a comprehensive service history as can be seen on the Historics website, its original leather handbook, an MoT test certificate valid for a full year and a V5C registration document Service history2003 Pre-delivery inspection Lancaster Aston Martin2002 1,329 miles Lancaster Aston Martin2003 7,306 miles Lancaster Aston Martin2004 10,083 miles Lancaster Aston Martin2004 12,507 miles Lancaster Aston Martin2005 14,648 miles Lancaster Aston Martin2006 17,666 miles Lancaster Aston Martin2006 20,992 miles Lancaster Aston Martin2007 24,250 miles Lancaster Aston Martin2008 29,514 miles Broughtons Aston Martin2009 34,598 miles Broughtons Aston Martin2010 40,973 miles Broughtons Aston Martin2011 47,217 miles Broughtons Aston Martin2012 52,513 miles McGurk Performance Cars2013 55,925 miles McGurk Performance Cars2014 60,446 miles McGurk Performance Cars2015 61,764 miles McGurk Performance Cars2016 unconfirmed miles McGurk Performance Cars2017 63,621 miles McGurk Performance Cars2018 65,077 miles McGurk Performance Cars2019 65,290 miles McGurk Performance Cars

2001 Jaguar XKR Convertible Transmission: automaticMileage:89709The XK8 is a grand tourer car that was launched in 1996 and was the first generation of a new XK series available in both coupé and convertible body styles and with the new 4.0 litre Jaguar AJ-V8 engine. The 1998 XKR was introduced with a supercharged version of the engine. Both the XK8 and XKR are electronically limited to a maximum of 155mph; the top speed of its predecessor, the XJS V12, being 158mph. Self-levelling Xenon headlamps came as standard with the XKR with Jaguar's adaptive cruise control as an optional feature available on both models. Jeremy Clarkson, during a Top Gear test drive, likened the interior of the original XK8 to sitting inside Blenheim Palace. This lovely Supercharged XKR is presented in Platinum Silver metallic with black hood and a complementary full black leather interior. 1972 Ferrari Dino 246 GT Transmission: manualMileage:25158The Dino, named in honour of Enzo Ferrari's son, was a brand for V6 engined Ferraris and the project that Alfredo 'Dino' Ferrari worked on before he died tragically of muscular dystrophy at just 24 years old. In order to homologate Ferrari's Formula Two entry in 1966, the FIA requested that 500 production cars were produced using the same V6 unit as the race car. The Fiat Dino was born using the two-litre V6 Ferrari unit which was later used in the early 206GT versions of the Dino. Ferrari used the mid-engined configuration that was working well for them in sports car racing for the new Dino and the prototype 206S was shown at the 1966 Turin show. The car drew a positive response and Ferrari put the car into production, making it the first mid-engined production Ferrari. A 2.4 litre version on a longer wheelbase, the 246GT, replaced the Dino 206 in late 1969. The beauty of a mid-engined sports car is the handling, as the improved centre of gravity lends itself to better road holding. A Ferrari Dino has great cornering ability and is an enormously fun car to drive.Originally registered to Mr. P. Thorpe in Woking, Surrey on 7th January 1972 and purchased by the current vendor in May 1990. This car was in a dismantled and poor condition when purchased 33 years ago, with the body having been removed from the chassis in order to deal with a number of issues including corrosion. The vendor at the time agreed to carry out certain works on the car including the bodywork issues and he re-united the body with the chassis. This was progress and at last the current owner had a rolling chassis to transport, along with a vast number of parts, including the engine, gearbox and ancillaries, interior, brakes and glass. Fortunately, the vendor's brother was a former Formula 1 mechanic and between them they spent three years putting the car back together, with the vendor taking care of the interior trim. Originally silver, the car was repainted in Ferrari Rosso Rubino Metallizato (Ruby Red metallic) and was MoT'd in July 1994 showing a mileage of 23,120 at the time. Now displaying a mileage of 25,158, thus this Ferrari has covered 2,038 miles in 33 years. Major work was carried out in October 2008 which included a partial engine rebuild, the mileage being 24,214 at the time.  There is room for sympathetic improvements to be made on this right hand drive Dino 246 GT, which now shows age-related wear and tear. We are advised that the lighting switch on the steering column is a little temperamental. A large quantity of documents and invoices accompanies this Ferrari. Due to the fact that the car has been off the road for a number of years throughout its life, it is thought the mileage of 25,158 could well be correct, although not warranted. It is widely agreed that the Ferrari Dino is one of the best-handling and most gratifying automobiles of the early 1970s; it is certainly one of the most attractive, delicately balanced designs ever produced by the masters at Pininfarina.

1988 Range Rover Vogue SE by Kingsley Cars (4.8 litre) Transmission: manualMileage:63000Kingsley Cars Ltd are best known for the re-engineered programme. They have been re-engineering classic Range Rovers since 2011, utilising more modern mechanics, in car entertainment, interior trimming, braking and suspension. The final product is nothing short of a masterpiece, affectively what has become known as a 'restomod', these Range Rovers are in huge demand today and cost in the region of £170,000 to build. The car you see today is where it all began, as the first Kingsley Cars Ltd demonstrator back in 2011. The car is fitted with a high torque 4.8 litre Kingsley fettled Rover V8, producing 275bhp. The engine was replaced by Kingsley in 2022, only covering around 3,000 miles since. Power is fed through a five-speed manual transmission, with short shift kit, making this Range Rover a delight to drive and really freeing up the engine compared with the more common automatic transmissions found in Range Rover's of this era. The suspension is adjustable and provides far better body control to the original offering. The car is presented in a stunning dark metallic silver, with red St James quilted leather interior. The leather doesn't stop there either, the parcel tray, grab handles and door cards are also shod in leather. The headlining and roof pillars are all trimmed with grey Alcantara, and the wool carpets are also bound in leather. Overall, the interior of this Range Rover is on a whole different level to the original car, making it feel far more modern accentuating the quality of the work carried out by Kingsley in 2011.Adding to the modern upgrades, the car has an upgraded sound system with Bluetooth connectivity, meaning it really offers everything you may need if you intend to use a classic as a daily driver. The lighting system has also been improved over the ageing original items. The headlights are now LED units with 650 Lumens low beam and 760 Lumens high beam, driving lamps have also been converted to Xenon. If you want to join the latest 'restomod' craze, this Range Rover by Kingsley could fit the bill perfectly. You are very unlikely to ever see another on the road and for those that know, this is just about as good as classic Range Rover ownership gets. Our vendor tells us the car can perform just like a sports car when needed, the engine and handling upgrades have created a car which is worlds apart from the original and yet the Range Rover can quite easily slip under the radar and be used as a relaxing daily driver at the same time. Offered with a very sensible estimate, this may be the only chance you have to buy a Kingsley fettled Range Rover for quite some time.

2004 Mercedes-Benz SL500 Transmission: automaticMileage:67322The Mercedes-Benz R129 models were produced from 1989 through to 2001 and were sold under the SL Class model names. The R129 replaced the R107 SL Class in 1989 and was subsequently replaced by the R230 in 2001. The R129 was based on the shortened floorpan of the Mercedes-Benz W124 saloon and featured many innovative details for the time. The R129 came to public attention in 1991 when Diana, Princess of Wales, sold her Jaguar XJS to lease a J-registration, metallic red 500 SL, becoming the first member of the royal family to use a foreign car. This controversy sparked a media storm as it was questioned whether a member of British royalty should drive foreign cars. The fifth generation of the legendary SL series of two-door convertible sports cars made by Mercedes-Benz was known as the R230. It featured a fully retractable hardtop that was marketed as the Vario Roof; a first for the SL Class although it had been available on the smaller SLK model since 1997.Originally registered on 8th June 2004, this Mercedes-Benz has formed part of a private collection in recent times and as such, has been kept in a warm dry environment. We are advised by the vendor this car drives with no known faults and with the modest mileage of 67,322 the 4966cc engine is barely run in. Finished in silver with a black leather interior, this SL500 is supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 16th February 2024. These are fabulous looking vehicles that offer 'wind in the hair' motoring as well as the comfort of a hardtop, such is the magnificent operation of the hood mechanism.

1961 Bedford J0 Pick-up Transmission: automaticMileage:25072Bedford Vehicles, usually shortened to just Bedford, were produced by Vauxhall Motors which was ultimately owned by General Motors. Established in 1930 and constructing commercial vehicles, Bedford Vehicles was a leading international truck brand, with substantial export sales of light, medium, and heavy trucks throughout the world. It was GM Europe's most profitable venture for several years. Perhaps the major event of the 1950's, was the transfer of all non-car based commercial vehicle manufacture to the former Vauxhall shadow factory at Boscombe Road, Dunstable. Bedford's Dunstable plant, dating originally from 1942, was extensively rebuilt and extended between 1955 and 1957 when all production lines were said to be over a mile long. Subsequently, all commercial vehicle manufacture would be concentrated here with only vans and car-based commercials remaining at the Luton plant. The Bedford TJ was first manufactured in 1958 and was an updated version of the TD range. The TJ was available in the UK up until 1975, after 1975 it was manufactured only for export. Production continued until 1986, after that it was manufactured by AWD into the early 1990s. Petrol and diesel engines were available, the lightest (J0 designation) could be specified with the 2.6 litre straight-six petrol engine from the Vauxhall Cresta. TJs were not large sellers within the UK, it is thought some 5,000 J0's were manufactured with a mere 20 or so remaining in the UK.The vendor has owned this vehicle for the last seven years and has mainly just kept the truck on display since purchasing it, as it is in such exceptional condition. The previous owner spent five years collecting all of the parts needed to complete a total nut and bolt restoration, his sole aim was to build the best Bedford J0 available anywhere in the world and in our opinion, he achieved his objective comfortably. Originally built at a time when manufacturing standards could be a little inconsistent, this Bedford has been painstakingly dismantled, painted, chromed and trimmed in superb quality leather. The cab was a genuine J0 new old stock unit as are many other parts fitted to this magnificent truck. The mileage of 25,000 is thought to be genuine and we can confirm all numbers match. The previous owner had almost an encyclopaedic knowledge when it comes to Bedford J0 trucks and his enthusiasm was infectious when talking about it. The silver paintwork is of a superb standard, except for one blemish which was picked up whilst at a show, on the side of the load bed, and would not look out of place on a Rolls-Royce. The red leather trim and Wilton carpets, together with ample chrome work combine to make this Bedford a striking vehicle, the quality of which you are unlikely to see again on such a vehicle. During the restoration, the emphasis was to retain the original features, improving as required, this appears to have been a success. The 2,600cc engine runs exceptionally well and the truck retains its original three-speed gearbox. Potential buyers are recommended to view this truck in person to confirm for themselves the quality of workmanship.

2004 Porsche 911 / 996 Carrera 4S Transmission: automaticMileage:122977The Porsche 911/996 Carrera 4S is fast becoming one of the most desirable 996 models, given its wide turbo body looks and still remaining very affordable in the modern classic world. It offers a thrilling driving experience and is powered by 3.6 litre flat-six engine, producing a highly respectable 316bhp. This engine was paired to either a six-speed manual transmission or an optional five-speed Tiptronic automatic. The car was also fitted with an all-wheel drive system, giving it excellent traction and handling in any conditions. The 996 Carrera 4S has a top speed of 174mph and a 0-60 time of just 4.8 seconds, making it one of the fastest cars in its class. This example was optioned from new with the Tiptronic gearbox, making it a fine package for long distance cruising, or city commuting. The car has a comprehensive service history, with 12 stamps in the service book, all being from Porsche main agents until 2012 at 91,049 miles. Following that, the servicing has been carried out by Porsche specialists JMG Porsche and Tower Porsche, with one more visit to Porsche Mid Sussex in 2016 at 108,952 miles. The most recent service was carried out by Tower Porsche in March 2023 at 122,576 miles. The car presents in Arctic Silver, which still looks in great condition. The interior also looks excellent with the seat bolsters still in very good shape and the overall impression is of a car which has been in caring ownership throughout its life. Our vendor had a very detailed inspection carried out prior to purchasing the car in November 2021, which can be viewed upon request as a PDF or indeed read through it in the history file. Our vendor also went to the trouble of fitting a Pioneer SPH-DA230DAB 7 € touch screen entertainment system, which offers Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth and DAB radio, bringing the car up to modern day standards. The car was also fitted with upgraded Alpine speakers, which are an improvement over the ageing original items.

Lot 211

2003 Bentley Arnage T Transmission: automaticMileage:127418The Arnage T can lay claim to the title of world's fastest saloon, needing all but the last two spots on its 170mph speedometer. It is powered by another version of the 6.75 litre Rolls-Royce, V8 engine but treated to what Bentley described as 'the most thorough re-engineering of its life'. Other changes included the adoption of a 'drive-by-wire' throttle to go hand-in-glove with Bosch's Electronic Stability Program which replaced the Red Label's traction control but what really gives this nearly three-ton car its immense poise is a revised suspension that features 57% more roll stiffness than the Red Label. The car's basic structure is also 10% stiffer which means there are no creaks and squeaks of the sort that distinguished previous generations of Bentleys. This lovely three owner example is presented in Silver Storm with Linen leather interior. The servicing was carried out by Broughtons of Surrey up until 2010 with invoices totalling £8083.54 and from 2010 to 2022 the car was looked after by N.Sandell Rolls Royce and Bentley specialists with   invoices totalling £32,853.80 €“ which shows clearly that this rare and sought after Bentley Arnage T has indeed been kept with no expense spared in its lifetime. The previous owner, who was only   the second owner having purchased the car in 2005,   had been the only driver predominantly and being generally the only individual in the car has resulted in the interior being in excellent general condition and still is as the present owner has used it sparingly. A great luxury tourer which ouzes opulence but has terrific performance to match. Rare indeed!

2000 Bentley Arnage Red Label Transmission: automaticMileage:82780Launched in 1998, the Arnage was manufactured in Crewe from 1998 to 2009 with its Rolls-Royce sibling, the Silver Seraph. They were the first entirely new designs for the two marques since 1980 when the Silver Spirit and Mulsanne models were introduced. The new Arnage (Green Label) was to be powered by a BMW V8 engine with Cosworth-engineered, twin-turbo chargers and the Seraph was to employ a BMW V12 engine. The Arnage Red Label was launched in October 1999 with the engine reverting back to Bentley power using the traditional V8 engine and a displacement of 6750cc. As part of the modification process, both Red and Green Label cars benefitted from expanded leg room in the cabin, stiffer bodyshells and larger wheels and brakes.First registered on 2nd October 2000 and supplied by Jack Barclay, this example had been in 'Bentley enthusiast' ownership for much of its life, currently taxes paid in the EU (Ireland). The history file for this Arnage contains bills and receipts for servicing, the most recent with specialist DEW services in the summer of 2022. Upon inspection the car requires recommissioning to the front suspension including replacement of the shock absorbers and rubbers and is currently displaying the applicable warning light on the dash. It is presented in one of the best colourways of Midnight Emerald with Magnolia Connolly leather hide interior and it also comes with two sets of keys. Presented to auction with an MoT test certificate valid until the end of July 2023, this 6.75 V8 litre Bentley will be subject to relevant UK import taxes and is sold on the bill of sale, there are no accompanying registration documents to go with this vehicle. This Bentley offers supreme luxury for a modest outlay but does require some TLC.Guide price £8,000- £12,000

Lot 236

1992 Range Rover Vogue SE (3.9 Litre) Transmission: automaticMileage:62237The first-generation Range Rover was produced between 1970 and 1996. The original car was not designed as a luxury-type 4x4; while certainly up-market compared to preceding Land Rover models, the early Range Rovers had fairly basic, utilitarian interiors with vinyl seats and plastic dashboards designed to be washed down with a hose. Features such as power assisted steering, carpeted floors, air conditioning, cloth/leather seats and wooden interior trim were fitted later. The Range Rover was a body-on-frame design with a box section ladder type chassis similar to contemporary Land Rovers. The Range Rover utilised coil springs as opposed to leaf springs, permanent four-wheel drive and four-wheel disc brakes and was originally powered by the Rover V8 engine.Supplied originally by Mann Egerton & Co. Ltd in Hatfield on 2nd February 1992, this Range Rover presents in delightful condition. The Aspen Silver coachwork is virtually unmarked, and the grey leather has a patina commensurate with the age and mileage. The 3.9 litre V8 engine starts on the button and runs well, and we are advised she drives as good as she looks. Service history is important on these classic Range Rovers and this one has been very well cared for, with two service books. Supplied with a V5 registration document and the original handbooks, this Vogue SE comes with the cherished number plate of 1135 UN. Driving a Range Rover is effortless, particularly in automatic guise as this one is, the air conditioning and electric seats all aid towards driver comfort. These fabulous cars always attract admiring glances wherever they appear. This super example will attract more than most.

Lot 239

1981 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II Transmission: automaticMileage:57056The Silver Shadow broke new ground for the Crewe Company in a number of key areas, from the sophisticated fully independent suspension with an advanced self-levelling system to four-wheel ventilated disc brakes. The only major components carried over from the Silver Cloud III were the excellent, all aluminium, 6.2 litre V8 and four-speed automatic transmission with fluid flywheel, the latter replaced by GM's excellent 400 three-speed box in October 1968 while the engine was enlarged to 6.75 litres the following year. Although no power output was ever divulged by the company, merely described as 'adequate', the Silver Shadow's superior aerodynamics meant the car was perfectly happy cruising the motorways. No less than eight individual Connolly hides were used to trim the interior of each car and the standard of finish on the upholstery, rich Wilton carpets and burr walnut veneers was impeccable. Each Silver Shadow employed 20 electric motors, powering everything from the radio antenna to adjusting the individual front seats. Build quality on the Silver Shadow remained unsurpassed, each taking no less than 12 weeks to build from start to finish.Originally supplied by Henlys in Chester on 7th August 1981, this Rolls-Royce presents in delightful condition and is finished in probably the best colour combination of Peacock Blue with Beige leather interior. A good history folder accompanies this Silver Shadow II, to be expected latterly by respected marque specialists. The engine runs well and we are advised this car drives with no known faults. The paintwork is in good order as is the interior; the front seats are fitted with headrests adding additional comfort for the driver and front passenger. These iconic Rolls-Royces are sublime to drive, offering comfort and luxury like no other car. This 1981 registered car is one of the last to be registered as the Silver Spirit was available from 1980. Supplied with a V5C registration document, together with the bookpack including the service book. Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow prices have been increasing significantly of late, and this is an ideal opportunity to obtain one of the last ones registered.

Lot 245

1976 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow I Transmission: automaticMileage:108463The Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow was a luxury saloon car built from 1965 through to 1980 and was the first Rolls-Royce to be constructed using a monocoque chassis and, to date, has the largest production volume of any Rolls-Royce. The original Shadow was three and a half inches narrower and seven inches shorter than its predecessor, the Silver Cloud, but managed to offer increased passenger and luggage space thanks to more efficient packaging. Aside from a more modern appearance and construction, the Silver Shadow introduced many new features such as disc brakes replacing drum brakes and independent rear suspension rather than the ageing live axle design of previous models. It featured a 189bhp 6.75 litre V8 engine from 1970 onwards, mated to a Turbo Hydromantic 400 transmission supplied by General Motors. The superb ride quality achieved in the Shadow was thanks to the innovative high-pressure hydraulic system with dual circuit braking and hydraulic self-levelling suspension.Originally supplied to W.J. Bowen & Sons Ltd. by H.A. Fox on 12th March 1976 at a cost of £18,235.22 this Silver Shadow I has been well cared for throughout its 46 years on the road. The Regency Bronze coachwork is the original colour and the invoice from H.A. Fox confirms the interior colour to be Beige leather. The optional extras at the time were, fire extinguisher, badge bar, a black Everflex roof and motifs to each door. The car was subsequently sold to Dr. T.C. Mayer on 1st September 1982, he kept the car for many years, with it bearing his registration number of TCM 1. When Dr. Mayer decided to stop driving the car, it changed hands to its third registered keeper in 2018. The original book pack and handbooks are with the car, along with spare keys. A good collection of invoices accompanies the history folder along with previous MoT test certificates going back to 1982. The car was cared for by Silver Lady for many years. These iconic Rolls-Royce's are delightful to look at and even better to drive. This example, still in its original colour combination, is offered for sale at no reserve, insurable on a classic policy and now inexpensive to run, there is no real reason not to use this on a daily basis.Guide £9,000- £12,000

Lot 250

1977 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow I Transmission: automaticMileage:23690The Silver Shadow began production in 1965 and continued until 1980. It was the first Rolls-Royce to be constructed using a monocoque chassis and, to date, has the largest production volume of any Rolls-Royce with over 30,000 built. The original Shadow was slightly narrower and shorter than the Silver Cloud, which it replaced, but managed to offer increased passenger and luggage space thanks to more efficient packaging, made possible by its construction. Aside from a more modern appearance and construction, the Silver Shadow introduced many new features such as disc brakes instead of drum brakes and independent rear suspension rather than the ageing live axle design of previous cars. The car's most innovative feature was a high-pressure hydraulic system licensed from Citroën, with dual-circuit braking and hydraulic self-levelling suspension. At first, both the front and rear of the car were controlled by the levelling system; the front levelling was deleted in 1969, as it had been determined that the rear levelling did almost all the work. Rolls-Royce achieved a high degree of ride quality with this arrangement.Being a 1977 car, this example is one of the very last Shadow I's built. It is beautifully presented in dark green metallic, which the owner believes to have been a special-order colour. The tan hide presents in excellent order, as does the veneer. Our vendor has owned the car since 2008, as part of his private collection, and he reports the car is an absolute joy to drive. The history file shows it has bills totalling in excess of £75,000 since the early 1990's, showing it has without doubt been in the care of enthusiastic owners. The car was registered to Lord Beaverbrook in September 1990, who looks to have retained ownership until around 1995. Good Silver Shadow's are becoming increasingly hard to find and this car will certainly turn heads wherever it goes, thanks to its beautiful colour and gleaming chrome.Interested parties should note that the private registration plate shown is to be retained by the vendor and a new, age-related registration issued instead.
