An England International who also won the 1933 (unofficial) World Championship in Sydney, he later became manager of Middlesbrough Bears leading them to the Northern Title in 1946. The trophy is a Victorian silver twin-handled cup and cover with silver gilt interior, Birmingham 1897, makers mark `BB`. The finial on lid is silver plated, with a winged angel to top.
