Weight approx. 303.9 grams (9.77ozt) Provenance: Bought in the 1900’s and passed down three generations of vendor's family, who were lead to believe the narrative of the embossed design depicted the legend of Bucephalus ( c355 -326 BC ) among the most famous horses in history it was said he could not be tamed. The young Alexander the Great who of course tamed him and went onto ride his beloved equine companion into many battlesThe tale was further added to, that the man by the barrel was Dionysus, the Greek god of wine. Further details: some small dings or marks, tarnished; slight surface scratching and general wear.
