(17cm.) high, weight 3.8oz.
A Continental silver bowl in the 18th century style, marked with 800 purity mark and maker`s mark, of circular form with twin flat foliate handles, the well with a roundel cast in relief with two figures playing horns beside a shield, engraved inscription, 10½in. (26.5cm.) wide, weight 21.5oz.

A Queen Anne pattern flintlock pocket pistol by Griffin of London with foliate engraved and signed steel box lock with stamped London proof marks, 5.3cm. turn-off cannon barrel, foliate engraved tang and sliding safety catch, engraved trigger guard, flat sided figured butt inlaid with silver wire scrollwork.

"THE HERONSHAW"`, 2½in. chambers, improved cyl. and full choke, treble-grip action with Westley Richards patent toplever, automatic safety with gold inlaid `SAFE` detail, foliate scrollwork engraving, retaining slight traces of original colour-hardening, 16in. figured walnut stock with chequered grip and chequered horn butt plate, silver escutcheon with engraved initials, in the original green canvas case with accessories. * Factory records record that this gun was manufactured in Dec. 1937 and supplied in Sept. 1939 to H. L. Huggins. A copy accompanies this lot.
A double barrelled percussion sporting gun by Edward of London 19th century, with browned twist sighted 72.5cm. barrels, signed in gold on the top rib, the breech inlaid with a gold gundog and with a shell, floral and foliate engraved tang inlaid with a stag`s head and pheasant in gold, signed border, pheasant and flame engraved flush fitting locks, foliate engraved bevelled hammers, highly figured walnut half stock with chequered grip and silver sunburst engraved end cap, border and foliate engraved steel butt plate and trigger guard with engraved vignette of a gundog and grouse, silver barrel bolt escutcheons and steel ramrod pipes with ebony, brass tipped ramrod.
A 19th century mahogany cased brass sextant by Troughton of London c.1895, no. 1087, of 8in. radius, the pierced patinated frame with vernier for the signed silver inset brass scale, fine adjustment and magnification lens, telescope opposing two sets of filters, ebonised handle to underside, signed `Captn. J. N. Campbell R. N.` to the end of arm, in the original baize lined mahogany case with accessories and Kew Observatory test certificate dated Sept. 1895.

Pittway Bros., a crocodile Gladstone type travelling case with silver mounted fittings, the fittings by Norman Marshall, London 1901 and 1902, the double-ended medicine spoon by Holland, Aldwinckle & Slater, London 1902, the ten jar and bottle covers and the shaving brush each engraved with a monogram ‘GP’ (another from another case), ivory mounted accessories including two steel boot pulls and various brushes, a manicure set in a leather folder, a stationery folder, a portable mirror and a leather cigar case, gilt stamped ‘Pittway Bros, London, EC1’, the exterior stamped ‘G. B. P.’, 47cm (18 ?in) long. Volume I of The Directory of Gold & Silversmiths (Woodbridge, 1987), p. 368 mentions William Tween and Frederick Purnell under the entry for Pittway Brothers. They are recorded as having bought the firm, listed in London directories as being a manufacturer of desks and dressing cases, circa 1861.
