A PAIR OF LATE VICTORIAN SILVER DESK CANDLESTICKS by Charles Stuart Harris, London 1981, in the neo-classical style, the square loaded base with drapery, the sconces with rams masks and garlands, 11cm tall Dents to three faces of the base on one stick and one to their other stick. Holes to the beaded borders at the corners to the base and above. One stick is bent. No other breaks, splits or repairs detected. Marks are fair. No erasures detected.
A GEORGE III SILVER SALVER BY Elizabeth Jones, London 1784, of circular outline, beaded rim, on three bracket supports, 17.8 cm diameter, 252g (8.1 troy ozs) gross Note: This salver is interesting on two counts, firstly Elizabeth Jones, who was probably the widow of Robert Jones, seems to have made nothing but salvers and trays, and her mark is found on little else. The date letter here is prior to the introduction of the Duty mark on December 1st 1784, so this piece was marked between May, when the date letter changed and the 31st of November 1784, a period of only six months.

Sugar basin and cream jug both have a dent. Small pin dent to the foot of the teapot. Marks all match. No inscriptions or engraving of any kind.
A CASED THREE PIECE SILVER CRUET SET Birmingham 1972, pierced and bright cut in the Georgian style, 221g (7.1 troy ozs) gross, with a plated mustard spoon. No breaks, splits, repairs or erasures detected. Hallmarks all match. Liners to salt and mustard have small chips to the rim, pepper liner seems to be in God order. Case is in good order.

OF WINCHESTER COLLEGE AND ATHLETIC INTEREST a late Victorian silver sovereign case, Chester 1896, of round form, the sprung cover inscribed 'Win. Coll' above the shielded arms of Winchester College, inscribed below 'F.H. JERVIS-SMITH'-'2nd Mile' - '1899' A F.H. JERVIS IS NOTED IN THE HARVARD UNIVERSITY PERIODICAL, 'THE HARVARD CRIMSON', April 30th 1901 in an article entitled 'The English Track Athletes', where it states: 'in the two-mile, H.W. Workman of Cambridge has a record of 9min, 53 3-5 sec F.H. Jervis-Smith of Oxford is a close second'.
A LATE VICTORIAN SILVER BOX London 1896, embossed in the rococo manner with cherub and fauna amongst scrolls, lined interior, 10.4cm long. No breaks, holes, splits or repairs detected. Marks are fair. Only the top section marked, no part Mark found to the base though it is inscribed with the retailers name 'Goldsmiths Company 112 Regent Street'. Rim to cover and base seem to be brass bound. May have originally been a curling tongs heater box? Monogrammed crouched.

ASSORTED COLLECTABLES comprising a 9ct gold Ronson cigarette lighter; a 9ct gold and enamel medal; three silver medals; a quantity of silver and silver-coloured coins, all punched for wearing; a pair of Chinese bronze paperweights, each in the form of a man seated upon bound logs; and other items. Condition report. The circular medal is 9 carat gold, by W.H.Haseler, Birmingham 1909. To the centre is a black triangle and to the centre is a lion rampant on a bicycle with 1910 above. The reset of the medal is white enamel with 'The Boys Semper Idem' in gold. The reverse is inscribed 'Presented-by-The Boys-to-H.E.Hyman-President-1910'Weighs approximately 7 g gross.
