Maker's mark rubbed but other marks clear. Tortoiseshell good - some surface marks. Top left hand corner behind silver is damaged and securing pin exposed, bottom left hand corner is cracked. Mahogany back has some wear and slightly distorted at base where it meets tortoiseshell, 12cm high x 10.2cm wide. Oval frame - general condition good. Silver mounts - minor surface denting and scratching. One securing pin missing. One other may have been replaced. Marks clear. Tortoiseshell good. Interior backing dirty. Exterior velvet worn. Hinge loose, probably a replacement, 12.5cm high x 7cm max width

Victorian diamond and pearl pendant / brooch with a central pearl measuring approximately 6.8mm diameter, surrounded by a two tiered border of old cut diamonds in silver collet setting, on gold galleried back with detachable brooch fitting. Estimated total diamond weight approximately 3 carats, 25mm diameter CONDITION REPORT Very good condition. Pearl has not been tested for natural origin and therefore might be cultured and it is for the buyer to form their own opinion. It is not being sold as natural. Pearl measures approximately 6.6mm - 6.8mm diameter, pearl has a good lustre. There are creases / cracks to the surface, it shows pink and green tones. The diamonds are old cut stones of varying colour and clarity, approximately 3mm diameter, the back of the setting shows minor areas of lead solder, possibly applied during manufacture. Total gross weight approximately 8.7 grams
