A Chinese Court Blue Dragon Robe Jifu, late 19th century, worked in golden copper and silver embroidery on a blue gauze ground, with standing waves at the hem and nine five-clawed dragons on the front, back and shoulder panels, embroidered in a deep golden copper thread, scrolling clouds and auspicious objects above celestial rocks and chevron bands, gilt and black thread key fret borders, the robe embroidered with satin floss stitch 141cm (55in) Provenance: Private collection, UK Some wear to the front, cuffs and collar The borders and cuffs are married (not original) to the robe and woven brocade gold and black. Late 19th century.
