Lot 62

A silver salver circa 1830, possibly by Edward Farrell, of shaped circular form with cast pie crust and foliate border on three scroll feet, with later scrolling shell and foliate engraved decoration, armorial crest to centre depicting a fist clutching an anchor, 22cm diameter, 10.62oztCR; There is a patch of solder repair to the central of the salver, around the central crest (see pictures). There appears to be repair to to the legs. There is also signs of previous splits and repairs to the border of the dish. Some thinning to the border of the salver. There is heavy scratching and wear to the front, reverse and feet on the piece. The central crest is heavily worn, and there is wear to the engraved floral border. The hallmarks are heavily worn. A pair of Victorian silver photograph frames by William Comyns, London 1894, of arched rectangular form with pierced figural, birds and putti in a foliate surround, surmounted by a heart-shaped cartouche, glazed central aperture with green silk lining, hardwood easel stand, each 22.8cm high (at fault)CR; Please note: The easel backs are thought to be later then the frames themselves - they appear to have been made to fit the frame dimensions, however do not sit properly in the frame brackets. The easels are slim and slightly too small, meaning the glass/silk lining (which are also thought to be later) 'rattle' slightly in their settings and the frames are not very stable when they stand, slipping frequently.The frames themselves are in good order. Some areas of slight thinning around the edges, some minor misshaping, general scratching and wear. No obvious areas of splitting, repair or major damage to the frames.The frame brackets are split around the edges, and quite misshapen in places - some repair may be required. Please see pictures for further illustration.Glass in both examples in good order, some chips and nibbles around the edges, but no cracks or damage visible in the aperture of the frame. Silk lining in good order, some fraying around the edges, but the silk visible in the aperture in in good order.

A pair of George III silver candlesticks, marked for Patrick Robertson, Edinburgh, Sheffield date letter 'A' for 1779, the Corinthian columns decorated with ram's masks, swags and foliate detail, detachable beaded sconces (unmarked), upon weighted square bases with beaded borders, decorated with floral medallions and laurel swags, engraved with crest and motto 'At Spes Non Fracta' to base and sconces, each 32.5cm high (2)CR; Both candlesticks show evidence of a green covered base which has since been lost. The wooden bases do appear to 'stick out' slightly. Wooden bases are heavily scratched and worn. Hallmarks to the bases are slightly worn, but are legible.Bases show heavy scratching and show general wear, and there are some small dents concentrated to the highpoints. The engraving to the crests show moderate wear, but are legible. Bases show some small areas of splitting concentrated around the corners and angles of the base, but no signs of repair.Columns show moderate scratching, denting and wear. Some wear and loss of definition to masks and detail. Some splitting around the foliate and swag decoration. Moderate denting, scratching and wear to capitals. Painted marks to capitals (see pictures).Sconces are not hallmarked silver. Crest to base and sconces are matching. Sconces show moderate denting, scratching and wear. Please see the additional pictures for illustration.

An Art Nouveau silver and enamel photograph frame, Synyer & Beddoes, Birmingham 1904, of shaped square form with silver tendril mount and blue enamelled flowers, circular glazed aperture to centre, easel stand, 15.5cm x 15cmCR; Overall fair. The silver mount is coming away from the wooden back in places (see pictures for most notable areas.)  There is some thinning and splitting to the edge of the silver mount, but largely it is in good order. Mount has some light denting, scratching and wear commensurate with age and use. There is moderate to heavy wear on the enamel of the flowers, mostly concentrated on the high points. Wooden back is in good order, with some scratching, wear and tear commensurate with age and use. Glazed aperture in good order, no cracks, losses or repair.

A George III silver teapot stand by John Emes, London 1804, of oval form with reeded border on four ball feet, the centre engraved with a laurel wreath in a scrolling border, 14cm x 11.5cm, weight 4.4oztCR; Overall good. No splitting or signs of repair. Two unusual semi-circular incise marks to reverse. Some light denting concentrated around the border. General scratching, wear and tear to front and reverse commensurate with age and light use. Engraved decoration is in good order. Some wear to the hallmarks, but they are still clear and legible.  

Lot 54

A George V silver double-ended spirit measure by Roberts & Belk, Sheffield 1913, plain polished with monogrammed initial 'P', to one cup, 10cm high, weight 2.50oztCR: Overall good. Some bending/misshaping to the rims of the bowls (see pictures). No splitting. General scratching and wear, mostly concentrated on the exterior. Engraved initial is heavily worn.  

Lot 135

A George III silver teapot by Michael Plummer, London 1793, of oval form with half-reeded decoration, phoenix crest to one side and coat of arms to the other, hinged cover with ebonised knop and handle, 15.5cm high, weight 15.94oztCR; Evidence of extensive solder repair to several places on the teapot, including the sides around the reeded decoration, hinge of the cover, spout and base. (please see images). Heavy amount of denting, ranging from small to large in size, mostly concentrated to the reeded high points of the body and spout. Handle and knop in good order. Cover opens smoothly and closes flush. Moderate wear to the crests on both sides of the piece.

The cork inside is present, but is detached.

A George V silver cigar case by Adie Brothers, Birmingham 1922, of rectangular form, the enamelled cover depicting a four-horse drawn carriage, push button mechanism opening to reveal gilt interior and yellow elasticated strap, 13.3cm x 8.5cm, weight 5.98oztCR; Overall condition is good. Enamel is in good order, no cracks, chips or losses exposing the silver beneath - scratching and wear only.Small dent to reverse, small patch of solder repair to a corner on the reverse, but no other dents, splitting, thinning or repair. Moderate scratching and wear to silver commensurate with age and use.Push button mechanism works correctly, opening smoothly and closing securely, however the cover does not sit completely flush.Gilt interior is moderately worn and scratched. Lettering and marks to interior are crisp and clear. Elastic to interior is stretched and has become detached at one side.

A George III silver cruet stand by Thomas & Jabez Daniell, London 1772, cinquefoil form with central knopped stem and scrolling handle, with applied wreath cartouche, raised on four shell feet, 25.5cm high, with accompanying casters and bottles including; a George II silver sugar caster by Samuel Wood, London 1755, 17.5cm high, a George III silver sugar caster by Robert Peaston, London 1763, 14cm high, a George III silver sugar caster marked 'I.D', London 1764, 14cm high, and a pair of Georgian silver mounted cut glass bottles, each marked 'SW', each 17cm high, gross weight (excluding glass bottles) 37.1ozt (6)CR; Stand: Overall good. The stand does not sit completely flat on a level surface, and wobbles slightly between two feet. One leg appears to have become detached from the frame and repaired at a later date (see pictures). Legs and feet are otherwise in good order, no splitting, thinning or repair. No signs of splitting or thinning to the base. There are signs of possible solder repair to the underside (please see images). Central column and handle in good order. Hallmarks to base clear, but hallmarks to column are worn, though still legible, and conform with those on the base. Piece shows scratching, some minor denting and wear overall.Largest caster (Samuel Wood): Overall good. No large dents, splitting or major damage. Possible signs of repair around a few of the pierced holes in the cover. Some small dents, scratching and wear to exterior. Hallmarks to base clear, and hallmarks to cover are worn but correspond to those on the base.Caster (ID): Overall good. No large dents, splitting or major damage. Some small dents, scratching and wear to exterior. No cracks, large chips or losses. General scratching and abrasion, concentrated on the high points. Covers in good order, no splitting or signs of repair, general scratching and wear.
