Pre WWI jockey racing silks, breeches and leather riding boots signed by Steve Donoghue 10x Champion Flat Racing Jockey from 1914 -1923 -the set comprises Dark blue with silver sash jacket with button up front, white breeches and a pair of lightweight black leather boots with dark mahogany tops and leather horse shoe heels (worn) but complete -signed in pencil to the white sash "Steve Donoghue". A rare once in a life time opportunity to acquire a unique piece of horse racing memorabilia. The items come c/w a letter of provenance from a direct member of the family whose descendent was personally given the items by Steve Donoghue. Steve Donoghue (b.1884 -1945) was a leading English flat-race jockey in the 1910s and 1920s. He was Champion Jockey 10 times between 1914 and 1923 and was one of the most celebrated horse racing sportsmen after Fred Archer, arguably only Sir Gordon Richards eclipsing him. His greatest triumphs came in the Epsom Derby which he won six times incl 3x consecutive wins in 1921, `22 & `23 - on Humorist (1921), Captain Cuttle (1922) and Papyrus (1923) - was the high point. In 1915 and 1917, he rode the horses Pommern and Gay Crusader to the English Triple Crown and in its more than two-hundred-year history, Steve Donoghue is the only one to have ever won the Triple Crown twice.

1930 World Cup commemorative bronze medal: embossed with The Uruguayan Coat of Arms and inscribed below on seven lines "A U de F-1er Campeonato -Mundial -De -Football -Montevideo -1930" and on the reverse the homage et al and part of the Olympic grandstand. Over the proud projects in to the grand slam centre there is the Greek windless victory holding the torch when the flame ditto throughout the tournament and the palms for the winner in her left hand. The medals were ordered in gold and silver and bronze by the Uruguayan football Association and were issued to all the participants` players, also to the general public. Silver medals were presented to the players and gold for the authorities. Also comes with 1998 Uruguay brochure titled "Primer Campeonato Mundial De Futbol Montevideo 1930" -and 2006 Official World Cup souvenir medal: celebrating Uruguay World Cup victories in 1930 & 1950 -the obverse embossed with the Homage Tower and Stadium and on the reverse embossed with the World Cup and venues - in the original retail packet.
