An Elizabeth I London 1599 silver seal top spoon by William Cawdell, mark C (or crescent) enclosing a W. 46 grams, length 16.7 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This spoon does show signs of use in line with age. There are spots of pitting in various places both on the top and the underside of the spoon. The handle itself has one clearly visible pitted hole and its very top is much scratched. Structure is stable and sound, hallmarks clearly visible.
A Charles I London 1638 seal top spoon by Daniel Carey, mark D enclosing a C, fig shaped bowl, well defined hexagonal stem, gilded overall (very pale gold, possibly original) large baluster knob. 62.5 grams, length 17.5 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This spoon is in sound condition with no losses, damage or scratches. Some occasional areas of wear in line with age. Some areas where the silver has been much rubbed to the handle. Hallmarks are clear to see.
A Charles I London 1641 silver apostle spoon by Thomas Paulson, St Simon Zelotes, maker TP in shaped shield with pellets, features Nimbus a gilded holy dove, reverse of bowl dot pricked 1642, GG over GM, emblem a saw, V joint just visible, finial cast in two halves. Length 16.3 cm, weight 49.9 grams. Provenance - Bonhams New Bond Street, 2nd July 2008 (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This spoon is clearly inscribed to the reverse. The hallmarks are also clear. Its structure is sound, no losses, splits or damage, just signs of wear as you would expect with occasional scratching. Some areas of slight indentation in line with age and use.
A hallmarked silver tankard. Height 15 cm, makers mark S and W Birmingham 1937. Weight 447 grams (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: There are no splits or damage visible. There are areas of wear to include light scratching to its body. Also small spots of pitting and dirt throughout. These do not appear to be that deep but are apparent. There is also very light and small surface dents in places.
Omar Ramsden a cased set of six silver teaspoons, London 1937, with sport hammered decoration and floral modelled finials. Each 11 cm in length, total weight +/- 137 grams (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This set of silver teaspoons has no visible damage or repairs. One or two spots of discolouration and signs of use.
An Edwardian Arts & Crafts silver vase, with three curved outswept handles, London 1901 maker Charles Clement Pilling (Sibray Hall & Co Ltd). weight +/- 180 grams, 15.5 cm high (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The hallmarks are clear. Plenty of small dents and dinks to the body of this vase, the majority being nearer its base. Structurally it looks sound. No splits or losses or misshaping. This is very much in a used state.
A Victorian coromandel wood ladies vanity case, with silver mounted accessories, London 1869, maker Chapman Son & Co (Oliver and Middleton Chapman), the case with Bramah locks. Height 13.5 cm, width 28.5 cm, depth 16.5 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The box itself is sound in structure. Plenty of wear to the brass edges and the veneer. The veneer itself has lifted on the top and there are clear splits that run through the rectangular top from one side to the other. When you open the lid it opens and closed very smoothly. There are areas of wear to the edges of both the lid and the base. The interior is part lined with a deep blue velvet, this is much worn and dirty. The leather tray itself lifts out comfortably. It is intact but again with areas of wear through use. All the glass containers are intact, one or two do have small chips to their bases but overall the structural condition is fairly sound. The plated lids themselves are engine turned and with the odd scratch etc but again intact and without splits or losses. Overall condition well used but complete. No comb and no key with this lot.
A late 19th/early 20th century Kukri knife, with leather and silver coloured metal mounted scabbard, and another similar but smaller. Largest overall length 53.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The length of the blade of the larger Kukri is 40 cm, the length of the smaller Kukri is 30 cm.
A collection of eleven vintage pens, to include Parker, Sheaffer and Warwickshire Constabulary. CONDITION REPORT: The blue grey boxed Parker with cardboard slip case has a gold nib as well as the pen in Scheaffer red box and the red Sheaffer pen with gold coloured lid. One pen being silver in colour is marked Warwickshire Constabulary, we are sure this could be removed.
